Talkback: Breastfeeding 'halves risk of postnatal depression'

Replies

  • I can totally see this! I wanted to give birth naturally and had emergency c sections with both my children which made me feel like a failure, then coupled with the fact I couldn't breast feed my children made me feel even more of a failure, especially when you are put under so much pressure to breast feed by the midwives in the hospital and then they express their disappointment when they see you bottle feeding your child because all your child has done is cry for food! I suffered with depression after both my children, and feel that society sometimes doesn't help when you are put under so much pressure to be "the perfect mother"!
