Finding a dentist is becoming increasingly difficult as more and more dentists leave the NHS to move into private practice, meaning real problems when trying to find an NHS dentist in your area!

The charges listed for NHS dental treatment on this page are a few years out of date, but the most up to date charges are at https://www.nhs.uk/using-the-nhs/nhs-services/dentists/understanding-nhs-dental-charges/

And the website listed for searching for your local NHS dentist isn't very useful - it unhelpfully just lists all the dental practices near by - most of which are not taking on new patients. The Dental Choices website better because it shows you which dentists are taking on new NHS patients https://dentalchoices.org/find-an-nhs-dentist/

Thanks for your comment betty–ab. You are absolutely right that the charges we listed were out of date: we've updated them now.
And we've also added in some clearer information on searching for an NHS dentist, depending on where you live in the UK
