I would love for this to be revisited with a bit more research. The "Bichon" pictured is absolutely not a Bichon, and most if not all of the dogs are very dirty and ungroomed, which is sad. Wheatens and border collies are also often very mouthy and will easily bite children if they're upset. There are some great suggestions on this list thatI myself often recommend to clients searching for their next family dog.
    Anyways,
    Happy puppy shopping!

    Thanks for your comment Texybill.

We're sorry to hear you think we need to research this article more. In fact, we worked closely with a vet (as we've acknowledged in our 2nd paragraph) when compiling this list and describing the different breeds we'd picked – and why.

We're also sorry to hear that you think the dogs pictured look dirty and ungroomed. We deliberately chose images of dogs that looked like family pets, rather than show-groomed dogs, so maybe that's what you meant?

We've replaced the picture of the Bichon Frise with one that's a bit more typical, though. Thanks for pointing that out.
