my DD was very slow to smile regularly - she did what I thought was the 'occasional' smile between 4 and 6 weeks but was pretty stony faced, lol - it took her AGES to start smiling and laughing with any regularity, goodness probably 8 or 9 weeks really - she is now a real giggler and smiles all the time, at anybody, so I wouldn't worry
