Booster seats help please

We're looking into buying a booster seat and pack away our highchair so DD can sit with us at the table. I've found a couple but not sure how viable they'll be with our dining chars and how good they are we've get these chairs from IKEA which have a curve in the seat http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/40112717 and I'm loking at either a plastic booster like this http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/40112717 or a trael one like this http://www.boots.com/en/Polar-Gear-Baby-Go-Anywhere-Booster-Seat_1120665/ but not sure how they'll sit with our seats does anyone have the Gilbert chairs and a booster that sits well on them?!

  • Strangely enough we have these exact chairs and use a booster seat. I'm afraid you've posted the link to your chair rather than the seat you're looking at but ours is a Safety First:

(in a much nicer colour than this one  ).

I don't think you should find any difficulty getting any seat to fit as the straps hold it on tightly. I would recommend against using a fabric-based travelling one on a regular basis as they get very food-encrusted - ours is great for travelling but looks disgusting. Plus they don't lift the child very much and are a bit too low to be used at most tables. I would also recommend a seat with a removable tray as they are useful occasionally.

    Hope that helps,

  • PS Just noticed it's Aila's birthday. Hope you've had a great day.
  • thanks girls I was thinking the plastic ones would be far easier to clean especially since Aila likes to self feed and is now experimenting with spoons and forks! Blondefriend thats one I was looing at but couldn't find out if the tray comes off completely is it removable? How're things with Charlie? Not been on here or the Nest for an age! Aila had a ball on her birthday we had a Baby Sensory party she loved it and everyone else enjoyed it too including me image
  • Yes, the tray comes off.

Charlie's doing really well thank you. We were able to remove his feeding tube 2 weeks ago and are now just feeding orally. image He doesn't drink anything so needs a lot of purees and jelly etc to keep the fluids up but he's come so far.

What's a baby sensory party? Sounds really interesting.

Baby Sensory is a group we used to go to, they do all different activities to stimulate all babies senses and promote learning. We got the class leader to come and do 45 mins of sensory at the party - it was Teddy Bears Picninc theme so she had a picnic set out for kids to play, then did a puppet show, read a story doing actions alon with it, songs with dancing / actions, parachute with huge inflatable ball along with "lets go fly a kite" (the ball was reresenting a kite) and finished with a light show. Me and Aila both loved Baby Sensory it was so much fun and helped keep me sane at the start of my PND. There's Toddler Sensory too with similar activities but taloired to older kids. My favourite song from the class was INcey Wincey so I had to include it too https://www.facebook.com/?ref=home#!/video/video.php?v=10150247639196761

Apologies for the essay but I can't recommend Sensory enough it's fab here's the organisations website if you're interested http://www.babysensory.com/en/Default.aspx?&CL=1
