If spontaneous labour with first does it usually mean you will for second?

I hope the title makes sense.....

Basically DS1 my waters went at 40+5 and he was born 41 weeks....I was wondering if you had a spontaeous labour first time does it usually mean you will second time or is risk of induction at 42 weeks still the same?

32+5

  • Again this is one I've asked many a time. The 'tentative' response is that your body should know what to do this time around so 'in theory' you should go into spontaneous labour a lot closer to your due date (possibly before) and that everything should go faster. Alas still a few days before I can actually prove this theory right or wrong.
  • I went into sponaneous labour at T+7 with DS and he was born at T+10, this time went into spontaneous labour on due date and she arrived following morning. As Kazzie said, my body definitely knew what it was doing this time!

    Good luck xx
  • i went into labour at 38+6 with my first but was helped along with 2 sweeps with my second
