Red Spots

My 10 month old and I are in Mexico right now. He just recently started getting pin point sized red dots on his skin. The aren't bothering him, but he seems to be getting more and more. The aren't like a rash or bite. The are not raised and do look iritated. I am just wondering if anyone knows what it could be? I have not called my doctor yet, but I am definatly concerned. If anyone knows what it could be please contact me.
