Can you recommend a good first ready bed?

Hello, We are staying with family next month overnight and looking for a ready bed as our travel cot is really for a younger baby. Does anyone have any tips on choosing the first one for quite a young toddler? Our son will be 20 months when we use it. He is currently in a cot. Would love to hear how you have gotten on with this.
