I think its just the weight. I got a few newborn & 0-3 just in case. Also depends obviously where you buy them from, different shops seem to have different size guidelines for newborn.

i went just for 0-3 months as i knew my boy was going to be big he was 8lb 14oz at birth weight lol there was no way new born was going to fit him!
