Newborn nasal mucus - can anyone help?

Hi all,

My little one is 7 weeks old and has been suffering with nasal mucus from 1 week old, due to the 3rd stage of my labour being too quick,  It is still really bad at night and as a result none of us are getting a lot of sleep.  We have propped the head end of his moses basket up, are using saline drops and sprays and put snuffle babe on a muslin cloth near his head.  The most annoying thing is that he has gone from sleeping 9 hours at night (with a feed in the middle) to now just 5-6 disturbed hours and we are all completely shattered.  He of course sleeps happily in the day!!!!

If anyone has any tips I would be most grateful as the GP just said lets review it in 6 weeks!  I don't think I can cope another 6 weeks...
