Second Hand Items

I have purchased a second hand moses basket, but cannot find a new mattress to fit as the sizes in baby shops have changed.  The closest was mothercare but still too big and had to be returned.  Anyone got any ideas?  Is it really that important to change a second hand mattress as it is a wipe clean one?
