  • So darren had his check up with the neonatal clinic. And they are very happy with him. He now weights 12lb 2oz at 10 weeks. He has to go see a cardiologist in Dublin just for a check up they said they are not worried about him.

The last few nights he's has been going to sleep between 10.30 and 11 until 5.30 - 6am. He's has his own routine going.

I'm still waiting for him to smile but I was told to go by the age he should be rather then what he is. He should only be 6 weeks old.

How's everyone and their baby's image

  • imageALBIE is now 8weeks and weighing 11lb 3 . This is his first visit to the zoo yesterday . xx

  • Hi everyone, we hope you're all doing well - thank you all for posting such wonderful pictures - it's amazing to see how much your babies are changing already.

We're just stopping by to ask, what do you wish you had known about breast or bottle feeding? Please do come and tell us if it's about breastfeeding on this thread, and if it's about bottle-feeding over on this thread

Also, today is your last chance to sign up to be a product tester for the new Baby Dove Rich Moisture range. If you fancy taking part, find out how to be in with a chance of being a tester right here

  • Well todays the day my partner has his first chemo and I'm stuck in the house with the 3 kids twiddling my thumbs hoping he'll be ok. His mum took him but says she will only stay a little while then she has to go to work I've asked her if she would look after the kids this afternoon so i can sit with him and she's said no. I'm so upset with her for not staying with him he would if it was me or her going through it. I cried when he left and told him i was sorry i couldn't be there, he said it was ok but i know deep down he's shitting himself about it 5 hours he has to sit there having it pumped into him and i cant be there to talk to him and make it go faster. I'm feeling really low ATM. I just want to get the kids ready and go and sit with him this is when i wished my mum was involved so she could look after them. Another thing that has annoyed me is that his sister lives 2 hours away and his second round is on the 4th of may so 2 weeks away Adam has been told that he can't stay with us if the kids are poorly and so his sister has decided she is coming down to stay with her mum on the 6th which means if he can't stay with us if the kids are snotty or poorly he can't stay at his mums either cos she is there. She could have waited for a week he wasn't having chemo so he was feeling better to see her and incase he needed to stop but she hasn't thought of that. And to top it all off my neighbour i fell out with because her hoarding is causing a health and safety issue in the hall way has decided to get her son to spray paint my car all over the windscreen roof and passenger side window she is also the one trying to get me evicted we had a chair dumped in the carpark in the space she parks in behind a wall the other side to mine and the chair got shoved down the side of my car scratching it hmm 1 guess who did that, i don't wanna leave my flat I'm not scared of what she will do next or what she will say to me I'm more worried about what i will say if i see her I'm a mum of 3 now but before because of being bullied at school i found my voice and won't hold back if someone upsets me or my family but i cant do that in front of my kids, but she really is asking for trouble now. I know i need to be the bigger and better person it's just hard when someone has no concideration for others. Sorry for the rant.

My little Harry is nearly 11 weeks now and sleeps anywhere between 5-8 hours at night only waking for a bottle and bum change. The day he had his injections was the worse he wouldn't let me put him down and i said i wasn't worried about it but he literally kept me up all night lol oh the joys hope everyone enjoyed their first Easters as new mummies. My little ones had hardly any chocolate and little Harry got the cutest little lamb that is now his comforter along with his Aden swaddle blanket that he won't settle without so he really loves it.

Amy I'm sure Darren will be smiling soon if he isn't already and it's right u go by what they should be with prem babies if they had gone full term. A little boy we go to group with has just turned 2 but he was very early and is hitting milestones that my nearly 2 year is hitting they should have been born only 3 months apart instead there is more like 5 so technically they are the same age if you get me.

Sorry for the rant again thank you for being so supportive even though we don't know each other x

  • Hi Kyriex, how did your partner get on with the chemo? We're sorry it sounds like you are doing so much on your own and having to deal with a crazy amount of stuff - are you hanging in there?

How are all the other February mums doing? Please do come and let us know how those babies are treating you, and feel free to post some pics too!

While we're here, we wanted let you know about some threads we're talking about today.

We're asking what surprised you most about giving birth? That thread is here.
We're also asking if you think this is true: New parents apparently lose 657 hours of sleep a year: do you think that's true or way off the mark? That thread is here

    Over and out for now!

  • imageimagehi!

Kyrie I hope things at home are better and your doing ok! How are you and your boys?

This is Rose in her first swimming class it was absolutely brilliant, the first photo is her zonked afterwards. She loved it though, was very relaxing for baby even when I had to wake her up from her nap!

She has her first sensory baby class tomorrow looking forward to it, makes such a difference to eat sleep baby repeat.

How's everyone's little ones getting along? Rose is now 11 weeks, has anyone had first giggles yet? Looking forward to that myself.

And is anyone else experiencing post pregnancy problems feel like I'm constantly at the drs and also recently admitted into hospital with an infection. Not good when looking after baby.

  • Hi kyrie. How is your husband doing?

Darren is now 3 months but should only be 2. And still no sign of a smile 😣 he had a check today and I'd now 14lb5oz and they said his head is a little big so we've to go and see a doctor who specialises in this. image

  • kyrie how did your partners chemo go? You are doing so well keeping strong with everything that you are going through. Harry seems like good baby so I'm sure that will help!

MUM2TB what a lovely pic of Rose in the water she looks to be loving it! I've been ok post pregnancy just had a bit of trouble with my hip - I thought it would be totally fine once giving birth. Hope you have recivered from the infection. What other problems have you had?

AmyM Darren looks so cute in his outfit! His smile will be worth the wait.

Have any of your babies outgrown their Moses basket? Matilda is starting to look a bit cramped in hers so going to move her to the cot.

  • Hi ladies!

Harry was 3 months on Tuesday. A big boy weighing 16lb 14oz at his 12 week injection last week, so definitely thriving!

We started baby yoga on Monday and baby massage on Tuesday. Am loving getting out to these with him, already hating the thought of returning to work!

Currently sitting in Birmingham airport after a brief trip, so he had his first sleepover at Granny's last night.

Harry has been in his big cot now for a week - he was hitting the Moses basket as he wriggled about. We put his basket inside the cot for a few nights to help get him used to it, but he transitioned with no problems thankfully.

My only post pregnancy issues now are a sore shoulder (the arm I hold him in to feed, as he's getting so heavy) and sore knee (we think because I tend to raise my knee up so I'm balancing on my toe when feeding him).

Hope everyone is well, thinking of you Kyrie xo

  • Amym he looks adorable love his outfit. Like laura said it will be worth the wait and extra special when he does.

Laura let us know how transitioning into a cot goes, this will be us soon and our cot is massive(cotbed) she will look lost! I'll feel a little bit odd when she won't be next to me.

Is everyone still doing night feeds?Rose is up at 2 then 6 which isn't too bad now.

I've been suffering from kidney infection and general aches and pains they think I could have kidney stones because of pre-eclampsia I had in pregnancy. We shall see after scan. And tmi now but I've never really recovered from hemorrhoids from childbirth gets so painful! Oh and a week before my first period I was so dizzy and lightheaded. I blame the hormones being out of whack but that seems to have settled now.

Honestly what we have to go through as women!

  • Aw bev so cute! Yes I can also relate I must add I had repetitive strain in my elbow from carrying baby!

  • MUM2TB - I felt the same at first without his Moses basket beside me ... so lost and definitely paranoid about him being ok!! We put in a sensor mat which has helped reassure me. Actually i've had a couple of what the doctors thought were UTIs, but the last doctor I saw decided the back/side pain I was experiencing was from lifting the baby and the car seat (following a section)!

  • Hi ladies. How are things going Kyrie? I hope your partner is doing well and your neighbour isn't causing you too many problems.

Loving the photos. We really want to take Lyra swimming as she loves her baths but we can't until the hip harness is off. She's been in it 5 weeks now and it's making a massive difference so hopefully it won't be too long.

I'm sure Darren will smile before long amym, and it'll be so worth it like the others have said!

Sorry about your post-pregnancy problems Mum2TB! I've been suffering with hemorrhoids too. I've also been a bit dizzy - I mentioned it at my haemophilia appointment last week so they tested my iron levels given I bled a fair bit and was anaemic after birth. Still waiting for the results.

Hope your trip went well Bev. How was Harry's first sleepover? We're in the process of booking a holiday to Finland for the summer. So many more things to think about with a baby!

Lyra's sleep has been getting pretty good, especially given she's breastfed. Her longest so far is 8 hours, and she's falling asleep around 1am, which is late but much better than before! Her issue is that she doesn't want to nap in the day and really fights it.

What's wrong with your hip Laura? I am still having problems with the shoulder I hurt skiing a few months before I got pregnant. I was hoping it was just the effects of the relaxin and it would clear up but carrying a baby around isn't really helping!

Lyra is still in her crib but she has spent a lot of nights in a big cot at my parents' house and seems to like it. She's not that heavy (11lb 10oz at 11 weeks) but is on the long side so is starting to look a bit cramped in her crib. The only issue is that we don't have a nursery here as we are planning to move to a bigger house before we put her in a cot. It's kind of crept up on us and we've suddenly realised we'd better get into gear with putting our place on the market! Luckily our plan is to move in with my parents while we hunt for our new place given we have absolutely no idea which area we want to move to yet, let alone which town or house!

Albie is 11 weeks now and is doing brilliant at night we bath him feed him and he's usually asleep at 9 until 5.30 ish

ive also been told his head is measuring too big so have an app with a doctor on the 5th of may ?? All my children have had larger rounder heads ...

Time seems to be whizzing by but im loving it . Can I check when can you take baby swimming ? Do they need all their injections first ?

is anyone else struggling with their baby weight I gained about 3 st ALBIE was 7lb 4 but no matter what I'm doing healthy eating , exercise etc my weight is just stuck !!!!!

Hope everyone is ok and enjoying their time with baby x

  • Hi Don no they can go swimming straight from birth but I did wait till she had her 8 week jabs before I took her.

There were many babies that were smaller and younger than Rose in the class.

  • Brilliant thanks

my health visitor advised me to wait but he loves water and wanted to take him whilst I'm off work x

  • Hi everyone, we hope you're all doing well.
We wanted to let you know about a new thread we're chatting about today. We're asking, if you have more than one child - when they were newborns, did your children look the same? Check out the thread for an awesome pic from one of the new mums in our Due in April 17 thread. You can find it right here.
