  • Yes Jodie, i heard they sometimes go through sleep regression around 3 mths maybe the screeming is to do with that?

Arthur eats his hands, it's his teeth. He gets hysterical about it. The teetha granules/powers have been quite good at calming him down and helping. U can buy gummee gloves for them to chew which go on thier hands. I think they r 15 quid. Your Mil sounds like a nightmare. I'm pleased to report as of yet both sets of grandparents are being incredibly helpful and respectful on the boundary front so I really can't complain. I had my first new yrs off in 16yrs so we spent it just as 3 of us and i hated it tbh, we just went to bed. Xmas was lovely though all families together which was lovely not that he knew jot about it but we did.image

    Happy new year everyone

Christmas and New Year was quiet in our house and just the way we wanted it, santa spoiled both boys way too much.

i think Charlie is starting to teeth as he keeps putting his hands in his mouth but it is mostly to suck, with his older brother I found a tooth one day and he went through it no bother usually they have bright red cheeks and a lot of dribble.

Charlie is sleeping well and a very content baby he's now up to 7oz 5 times a day but his reflux has started to get worse again and I've started him on one spoon feed a day of baby rice and he's taking to it well, he's having about 2 teaspoons per feed.

he has also taken against his daddy he won't go near him and if I leave the room he sequels the place down which is going to be harder if I want to go places on my own.

im planning on going back to work in July I only work part time anyway but we're going to start trying for no 3 soon so I don't know what will happen if I happens sooner rather than later I know my employer will go mad.  Harry goes to after school 2 days a week and Charlie will be in nursery the same days the price is expensive it will be £120 per week rather than £40 I pay at the minute.

  • Happy New Year All

Joerodiex, that sound horrid about your mil. I would just put fin in nursery. Aayla grandparents keep asking  me to give aayla formula. I am still breast feeding. We are going to private consultant this Wednesday to reaccess her tongue tie for the third time. We also have sign up for sensory and sing and sign.

  • We had a lovely Christmas. Harry was an Angel and slept whilst I cooked and again when we had dinner. Harry got way to many presents. New Years Eve was quiet. We watched movies with Harry.

Harry sleeps straight through the night. From 11pm until 8.30am usually then goes back to sleep until 12/1pm!

Harry has started dribbling loads to. He can hold a chew toy. However he drops it loads. He plays with his muslin squares and monkey which keeps him happy and his hands busy.

Try finding something that fits in the hands and is light. Harry has a monkey (below from Marks and spencers) he can grip the arms and tail and loves it.

Harry is a chucky 13lbs 11ozs. He is just over 3 months old now! Where has time gone.

I plan to go back to work in June/July now. If I could I wouldn't go back until he starts school  but possible. I have decided to only go back 22 hours not 37hours.

My New Years resolution is the same. Go to more baby groups and fit back into my pre pregnancy clothes. Currently up a size and a bit lol. Allan put my cross trainer back up so just got to start. To busy playing with Harry though. He is so much funimageimageimageimage

Hey everyone I hope you all had a lovely xmas and happy new year!

we went to a party New Year's Eve but Jesse was unwell so I took him home while hubby and oldest son stayed. hospital New Year's Day as he had croup 😢 Nearly over it now just coughing a bit.

Jesse treated us over xmas too 3 full nights sleep but hes teething now and that is playing havoc with his sleep.

Were starting a sensory class on Wednesday I think jesse will love it he loves us singing to him.

im lucky in the sense of not going 'back to work' as work is at my house as I'm registering to childmind will be interesting a 6 month old, a 1 year old and a 2 year old. Plus my 6 year old and I can potentially look after another two over the age of 5.

  • Hi ladies and babies happy new year to you all! Hope you all had a lovely Christmas and new year. Time has just been flying in it's mad I can't believe Luke is almost 3 months old!

We had a lovely Christmas with all the family round although it made me sad Luke being passed around I had to keep saying "I will take him" I just want him all to myself! We had a quiet new year in the 3 of us which was nice too. Unfortunately my dad had a heart attack last week which was a horrible start to the year but he seems to be on the mend and I'm just so glad he's still here!

Luke has been the same Jodie - screaming at bed time although he had a week of sleeping all day then the past week he's hardly been sleeping then getting to the point that he's overtired. I also wondered if it was a growth spurt and maybe my milk supply isn't enough so I've been taking fenugreek to try and increase it. Luke was sleeping pretty much through the night but the past 3 nights he has been going down earlier then waking for a feed at like 3 which I've struggled with a bit after getting used to sleeping solid chunks as he's been so good. Hopefully just a phase.

He has also been chewing his hands loads and slavering I've bought different teething chews as he was chewing my finger but he hates them and screams so have just been using dentinox gel and going to get some Ashton & parsons granules to try them.

It'a completely just trial and error isn't it? I can't decide if Luke is intolerant to dairy maybe he's been having a few poo explosions at the end of the day again which he hasnt had for a while but it's like he's uncomfortable until he gets it out! He's just a wee delight though smiling loads and getting his wee personality I just feel even more overwhelmed with love for him every day.

Oh going back to work is a thought isn't it! I'm probably going back end of July/start of August but only 3 days. I work on a private nursery so am really not looking forward to leaving Luke to look after other people's kids! The thought makes me so sad. I also want to get out a bit more and shift the last of this weight, still have about 1/2 stone til I'm back to pre-pregnancy weight I've been really lucky that it's just fallen off even with all the crap I ate over Christmas but think this will be the hardest part. We started baby massage on Tuesday which Luke hated he screamed the place down! But going to go even just to sit and chat and listen as other mums were nice. We are starting baby sensory this week too which I'm looking forward to.

Here are some recent photos of Luke :)

Yesterday morning at 7am. Decided not to sleep after morning feed.

Currently cleaning my pump bottle. Just finish a pump session before I go back to bed.

Aayla had her third tongue tie cut on Wednesday. Now we are doing tongue exercises and trying to spread collagen away from her wound to prevent reattachment. The exercise is very mentally draining as she would cry and hate it. I got to do it for 4 weeks. :( Can't wait for it to be over and please please do not reattached it again!

Due to that we start combi. Now fully breastmilk. Breast fed and expressed milk. I also give bottle before bed time. Because tongue tie babies could not drawn milk out efficiently. They get tired before their belly is full.

Friday we went for a walk around our estate. Sorry for looking knackered. Got our Tula free to grow carrier. Signed up for sling swing in Feb. Currently we are going for sensory and sing and sign. Anyone doing swimming class? They are so expensive.

  • Memza. So sorry to hear about your dad. I hope he makes a speedy recovery. I'm dreading going back to work. I love being with Harry so much. We have such a nice routine during the week and he is so lovely and fun.

I have an appointment at a nursery. Looking into Montessori nursery and it does look great if expensive!

Has anyone taken a long trip. A relative wants to meet Harry and I want to go but it' a two hour drive without traffic. I don't know how he will cope with such a long day. Plus he' a fidget.

I tried to take a picture of Harry and me for the photo album and he was having none of it lol. imageimageimage

  • Kitara I've looked at turtle tots classes but they are really expensive as you say - £13 for 1/2 hour. I'm going to take Luke myself first and see if he likes the swimming pool before spending all that money. He loves the bath though!

  • Our local pool does swim classes for 18 quid a nth which I didn't think was too bad but theres 100 on the waiting list. George I'd say take him, if his tired he will sleep where ever he is, just make sure there's plenty of places to stop so u can get him out of his seat every now and again, it's only a one off and if they r  will kick yourself if something happens and they never meet. We travel lots with little man but we stop regularly. We have started Spanish classes and found a local sensory room which is free for under 6mths so we are going to start going there. I have been back to working since 3weeks old only part time and as much as I love spending my time with little man the work acts as a nice break, it's only for a few hrs while his mainly asleep and he gets daddy time then. I even get a social night once a week and so does daddy. I feel it's good for him to be used to us not being there 24/7, it won't be quite so traumatic when we r both away with work when his older then as it will be his norm. Its also good for us as well, makes you feel more like yourself and I honestly feel no different from before he was born, it's working really well for us and i don't feel overwellemed or stressed in the slightest and baby is happy as a lamb. He loves seeing new people and having cuddles with everyone and I don't mind people holding him or anything, again I feel it's good for him, and I like seeing him socialising, I really struggle socially and I think that's because I never interacted much in my early yrs as I came from the smallest family and my mum didn't work and we never did club's or anything and I desperately want him to be more confident than I am as it's very restricting in life when your socially restricted.

  • Hi everyone. Have you had any problems posting on the forum from your mobile? Please tell us on THIS THREAD if you have.

And today's talking point: do you know any babies named after a place, like Kim and Kanye's new baby Chicago? Maybe you're planning on naming your baby after a place? Do tell us on this new thread here.

  • Hi ladies! Hope you’re all doing well

i was just wondering if I could get all your opinion/advice on something.

Finn was 3 months a week ago but he has yet to start holding toys. He rarely reaches out to grasp the toys on his playing mat and when you put toys in his hand he will hold it but he doesn’t actually know he’s doing it and will let go. He is more interested in chewing his fists to be honest hahaha

Are any of your babies in the same boat? And if not did you do anything to help your babies understand how to hold toys or to start grabbing toys?

    thanks in advance!

  • Hi Joerodiex

    Harry is also three months.

He does hold and play with toys. Only in the last month though. He would only chew his fists or a muslin square (he lives holding a muslin).

My dad got him a monkey from Marks and spencers. It' amazing  he was able to grasp the tail and he loves it. He now sits stroking it' face and holds it. He also now plays with rattles.

I would recommend the monkey. I have bought three for nephews who are much older than Harry. Every time we visited they stole him.

Try giving Finn a muslin when he is chewing on his hands. He will put that in his mouth instead and learn also to grip doing that. Make sure everything is in reach and just play Every day x

  • Joerodie Luke is exactly same age as Finn (to the day isnt he?) and is yet to reach out and grab things. Like Finn he will hold something if I put it in his hand but then let's go. He did grab the sponge in the bath a couple of weeks ago but I think that was just because it happened to be right were his hand was😁 All Luke wants to do is chew his fists or eat my hand like a corn on the cob!

  • Hi Joerodie,

Try a light up toy if you haven’t already. My wee girls 3 months old today and although she’s interested in the bright colourful toys I put in front of her she won’t really reach out and grab them. I started putting this in front of her and she always reaches out for it and trys to get it in her mouth!

    image

  • Charlie has only started to grab things in the past 2 weeks, I usually put toys on his tummy and he is able to grab and bring them to his mouth.

i also got his first giggle yesterday which was lovely as it was just the 2 of us I was so proud I was nearly in tears.

We were supposed to have his 16 week check up today and the health visitor never turned up which meant a day wasted and also my hair has started to fall out in chunks not looking forward to the regrowth

  • 16 week check up? My health visitor said after the 6week check they dont come agaim til 1yr.

  • We have a developmental check at 4 months but we are in Scotland, I think possibly again at 6-8 months but I could be wrong
