  • We hope you've all had a lovely Christmas. Jadeelx, check out on YouTube 'Tiger in a Tree colic' which I found really useful for my awfully colicky baby...

  • Jade, Fletcher also suffers with trapped wind horribly. In fact, we gave him gripe water a while ago, and now he is currently laying on my chest. Booking chiropractor asap. And going dairy free as of tomorrow. It helped with my daughter, so fingers crossed.

Had his 6-8 weeks check today. He is doing great other than the wind issue. Pretty much 75th centile for everything. His sister, who is exactly 18 months older, is only 6.5lbs heavier than him 😂

  • How did it work for you, how much do you give him and after every feed or? I gave him gripe but still not sure if it’s worked for him. Currently an hour into a crying session, crying every ten minutes then fine and squirming on my boob. 😓

I was supposed to have mine yesterday but thand GP cancelled due to illness, so next appointment is 8th of Jan.

I wanted to ask is it possible for me to have AF already? I think im having a visit and I’m only 6 weeks PP yesterday. I’ve exclusively breastfed too, he doesn’t even take a dummy and he doesn’t sleep through the night. I’m not sure if this is possible but I don’t know what else to think? My bleeding after the c section died down very fast.

  • Hi ladies. How are you all doing. Sorry to see you’re little ones have got bad wind. Luckily Grace doesn’t suffer with wind, but it sick after most feeds. She’s 75th venture though and EBF. She had her injections today 😓 The actual injection was fine but after has been awful. She’s cried all day and she never cries, high temp and hates calpol. Literally gaggs so much. It’s awful to see them poorly.  X

  • Jade, I only give him 1 x 5ml dose per day, a couple of hours before bed. During the day, If we are out, he is pretty much also in a ergo or caboo carrier, which means he struggles less with wind in the day time. He hates taking it, But he settles right away afterwards.

Our appt was only the 6 week weight check with the health visitor (although had it just before 8 weeks). He has his gp one next week, including vaccinations. Yikes. X

  • I'm awfully afraid of the injections. I don't want to see my baby in pain or what comes after and my husband is still mostly against injections as well so that makes it harder.

On the bright side I made little Noah smile for the first time today! Pinched those little cheeks together and he loved it ♡ got it on video but no pictures yet

  • Yeah the injections are horrid. Grace was so upset all day yesterday and still high temp and sleepy today but doesn’t seem In pain anymore. x

  • Happy new year everyone, how are you all?

Bubba was offically diagnosed with Laryngomalacia (floppy larynx), which explains his noisiness! Got a referral to great ormond street to see a specialist. It’s most likely a wait and see treatment, as he is supposed to grow out of it from 18-24 months. Makes me sad that he has this and doesnt help people asking what’s wrong with him all the time. He is a happy baby overall though, it doesnt seem to bother him and he’s growing nicely so far on the 25th percentile.

Currently going through a leap so he is really struggling. Latest thing is he wants to be fed whilst in motion, so the minute I sit down he starts screaming!

  • Happy New year everyone.

Jade he is so cute :-) sorry to hear about his diagnosis but glad to hear you finally got somewhere with doctors!

We are doing well Iris is a little chunky monkey but following her centile lovely. Feeding is still going well although since having a cold last week she seems to have got a bit lazy with her latch. We have also had 2 nights of her sleeping from 10pm-6.30 which has been lovely especially as the last few weeks her sleep pattern has been totally back to front. image

  • Hi everyone,
We wanted to ask you, when you were pregnant, did you have the flu jab? Please do tell us on this new thread here.

Also, if you fancy sharing your top tips for booking a family holiday with ABTA, you could win a £200 John Lewis voucher. That thread is here. Good luck!

  • Such cute babies 🙂I'm glad you finally found out what was wrong Jade.

Noah has his 6 weeks in 3 days so I'm not sure what he's at right now but all has been well. Sleeps for 4 hours at night but loves to be awake during the day. I find him trying to munch on my shirt when I hold him even when he's been fed. I sure hope he stops that soon. I don't want him ingesting fibers.

Feeds 6 ounces every feed now but I really haven't noticed any growth spurts yet and he's 6 weeks and 4 days today. He's been loving his new smiling ability though 😁 still too hard to catch on camera but I got a screen grab from the video we took.image

  • Oh he’s v cute mochi. Wow 6 ounces well done to him!

Iris is adorable Laurah, I think Nasr has become a bit lazy with his latch too. I’ve noticed he doesn’t open as wide initially however he feeds comfortably (for me), even though I feel like it doesn’t look right. He’s been swallowing a lot more air, I can hear it sometimes so I feel like he doesnt keep the suction very well!

Booked in for jabs next week, so scared.

i think Nasr has started teething already, he has been dribbling, crying, chewing, not feeding a lot. Looks like there’s a white spot in his mouth. Had 6 week check yesterday and he’s in perfect health otherwise. How can this be at 7.5 weeks old 😫

  • Teething already?? Poor thing I hope his mouth isn't bothering him. I caught Noah trying to suck on his hand the other day as well.

Today he hasn't been feeding well either. He's been drinking around 4 ounces and then he's content but about 30 minutes later he'll fuss but not want anymore milk. Will probably bring this up at his 6 weeks.

I did catch that smile finally! He was just all smiles today. For a good minute at a time he would try hard to copy our smiles.image

  • Ahh such gorgeous babies ladies. Jade I’m glad you get diagnosed (Dr jennie here had it sussed 😬)

Grace has a huge umbilical hernia so will need surgery if it doesn’t correct. It’s one thing after another lol. But she’s thriving, fully breast fed and tracking perfect on 75th. She just started smiling at us and making lots of lovely noises. She’s technically only 7 weeks in development but is 11 weeks now from birth date.

Lots of blood tests later we have normal thyroid range with this dose of tablets. Thank god!

Wonder weeks app is great to know where you are up to with leaps. We have just hit leap 2. Const feeding all night and just wants me.

    Xxx

  • Your poor baby has gone through so much! She's very lucky to have such a supportive and strong mother like you!

Noah hasn't had any major health issues as of yet but I find it comforting to know that if something ever happens, that other mothers are going through their own difficulties as well so I shouldn't ever feel like I'm going through it alone.

  • imagelovely to hear updates from people :) hope the new year is treating you all well. Sorry to hear of health concerns jade and WLJ. Fingers crossed these things are quickly resolved/don't cause many issues.

Fletcher is doing well. Well, I say that. The Dr was impressed at the 8 week check. He was shocked at his strength, head control and how alert he is. He was given his jabs at the same time, which he obviously wasn't happy with. But he's growing well (and very rapidly!). We are slowly moving him in to 3-6 month clothing - he turned 2 months on 3rd jan! I am a very sleep deprived mummy though - obviously they remain in 4th trimester until around 3 months, so he isn't keen on being put down. And he is also teething too. So that has made for some very sleepless nights. So I'm currently residing on the sofa at night so my partner can get some rest (not a lot he can do at night to help cos of exclusively breastfeeding). But an average of about 3 hours sleep a night 😴

  • I know sleep deprivation all too well. My current bed is now the sofa as well 🙂 Are Fletcher's nights not working well for you? I can usually get 2 to 3 hours of sleep in between feedings at night since he's still very tired because of the dark. I rarely get 4 hours anymore like he used to. I really do hope you can catch up on sleep soon.
