Did you help raise your younger siblings? Did it make parenting easier?

Hi everyone,

I'm 8 weeks pregnant with my first and so happy! I do have a lot of experience with babies, particularly helping to care for a much younger sister, who was born when I was 13. I had tons of responsibility for her, soothing, feeding, changing, disciplining, putting to bed, etc. I know it will be different with my own, but I have to believe this experience helps. I think I will be less thrown off by the needs of a newborn, though still exhausted.

Did anyone here have experience raising a young sibling? Do you think it helped ease your transition into parenthood?

Thanks for your insight!
