  • Well I jept forcing him to do tummy time and we finally seem to have got there now. He bats at everything on his playmat and sometimes grabs hold of the dangly things but I’m sure it’s by accident. This has only happened in the past week though. He doesn’t try and reach for anything if I hold something above his chest and he’s looking at it rather than me he will try and hold it but so uncoordinated still at the moment and again this has only been the last week. I don’t even know if he means to bat the things on his playmat, he just never keeps his arms and legs still at all so could just be because of that lol. If I put something in his hand he will grasp it but that’s just a reflex still at the moment.

I know I can’t believe how small they are when we have to make them go through this, my mum said we were older back then before we had any immunisations and I’m sure some people still put them off til a later age now x

  • How are you getting on with tummy time?

  • How old is he now?

Tummy time is not a problem we can do a good 20minutes and have mastered rolling front to back but the issue with the playmat is getting her to lie on her back - we probably manage 2 mins max with me singing etc to distract her from the fact she is on her back.

haha the arms and legs must be a reflux thing! I took Nancy to have her photos done and the photographer complained that she is ‘all arms and legs’ 🙄.

She is only just two months and we have an appointment with the  paediatrician the day she is 4monthe so trying to not worry about anything till then!

have you taken jackson swimming yet? We start next week - everyone may need ear plugs 😂🙈

  • He is just over 12 weeks. He doesn’t seem to mind being on his back when on the play mat. How does Nancy sleep, on her side? I have taken him swimming once not a class just local pool, he was fine. It was weird he didn’t smile, didn’t moan, just looked around with an expressionless look on his face lol.

Is your paeditrician appt regarding reflux, in this district I don’t see my HV until 9 months now from him being 2 months old which I find crazy. I haven’t been referred to a paediatrician or dietician even though I’m on nutramigen. Crazy how hey differ so much.

Are you using a pillow for tummy time still to prop Nancy up, we can only manage about 5 mins before he gets a bit annoyed, funny watching them roll it’s like there head is too heavy it just sways them over. It’s hard because he’s always so tired because he doesn’t sleep properly at night so having constant 45 min naps in the day as he still can’t transition into the next sleep cycle, he wakes, cries, I have to pick him up and takes me ages to get him back off again for another 45 mins.

If it carries on past 4 months I contemplating contacting a sleep specialist. X

  • No she sleeps on her back just fine which is so strange.

That is Nancy’s face in the bath, I always think she is like, I will tolerate this but I will not enjoy it 😂.

Yes we are under peads but for her cows milk allergy not the reflux originally but she does deal with both now. I think it may be because she was diagnosed with both via a hospital admission.

We sometimes use a pillow sometimes use nothing she isn’t really bothered which - I try and use the pillow because it has toys attached but she has been known to just fall asleep 🙈.

aww poor little boy he must be exhausted. Is his startle reflex still quite bad? Maybe that is waking him up xx

  • Hey. So had our second session yesterday. She clearly concentrated mainly on Nancy’s stomach/digestive system as her reflux has been so terrible since her injections and all of a sudden she is struggling with wind!

I have to say I’m so far very disappointed we had the worst nights sleep we have had in ages and today she has cried, fussed, cried some more and then I cried!!

I keep reading all these posts about babies development at this age and then I just cry as she doesn’t do any of those things but I’m sure this is because she is so unhappy 😢 (anyway whinge over)

  • Hi Ally. Sorry to hear about your night. I hope it's ok to say this, but try and put last night down to experience, those tough nights will happen (had so many of them myself) and onwards, to hopefully a more restful night tonight.

With my second baby, we didn't hit any milestones for what seems like so much later than others - they all get their in their own time, don't worry. x

  • I think I was just overdue a little cry 😢.

Im just worked up about her eyes I think and how it’s going to affect her in the long term and I really need to learn that all babies cry!

Thanks for the message though I really appreciate it x
