Baby Cereal

I recently received a few containers of Gerber baby cereal from a friend. One of the containers expired 1 month ago and another expired 2 months ago. Do you think that these are still ok to use or should I throw them away. I hate to be wasteful but I am also very cautious about giving baby something that is not safe to eat. Thank you for any input!
