  • So glad to finally be on the babies board 😁☺️🎉

Hope all the mummies & babies are doing well 🥰

Kayden is a week old today no idea where that week went but it’s been the best! Nice to have some blue in our house 🤣☺️💙
  • Hey guys, sorry I've been so MIA, life's been so hectic!

    My birth was absolutely wonderful!
I had the sweep on Sunday morning, came home for a clary sage bath and then that evening, I sat and had a zoom hypnosis session with my friend who teachers hypnobirthing. I had 3 BH during that 20min session, little did I know that that was the start of my contractions!

They intensified a little into the evening, but they were sporadic and I slept through most, although I felt them in my dreams!! Come 2am they were regular so I took myself ofdf downstairs, lit some candles, bounced on my ball, drank some hot chocolate and watched a film.

I phoned the midwife unit at about 10.30am becaise they were strong but irregular, sometimes every 10 mins, sometimes every 5. The midwife heard a contraction on the phone and told me to get in without delay. I had another two on the short drive to the mat unit, but they stopped for about half an hour when we got there due to the disruption. We thought about going home... glad we didn't!!

At some point, my contractions had reached every 2mins, lasting 1min long and I felt some pressure, but didn't realise what was happening, because the contractions still weren't as horrific as the early labour phase with my first. A care assistant popped in mid contraction and ran to get the midwife who took one look at me and pulled my knickers off and started my birth pool. My midwife was called, who got there immediately because she's a gem 🥰 I took gas and air at this point and little Evan was born in the birth pool that afternoon. He weighed a whopping 8lb 11.5oz.

That night I noticed Evan had some rapid breathing episodes, so we were transferred to hosp the next day. Poor thing underwent lots of tests and he was treated for an unknown lung infection for almost a week.

My boobs gave once again turned into super boobs and the flow has been a little tough for him - add in the fact that we found a tongue tie as well and it's been a poor mix for him, but we seem to have made a way around it and he has put on 8oz by his 10 day check (I repeat... super boobs!!)

We are now just waiting on a referral to check on some birth marks he has.

    It's all been eventful!

I hope everyone else is doing okay!!
  • Hey. How’s everyone doing with the recovery and night feeds?
  • I've gotten off very lucky @MrsBeeL 😊 apart from the after pains for the first 48hrs and a spot of jelly belly, I came away without a scratch so recovery absolutely fantastic.

Hormones steadied themselves after about 10days, so no longer teary eyed!

Feeding us going okay. Evan seems to have found himself a pattern. He's awake until about 9/10pm then sleeps for 2x 3hr intervals then about then another 1 & 1/2hr sleep, then another 3hr whilst we get ready in the morning.

    How about you lovely?

  • My natural meds free birth story:

    10-Nov-2020
I had a strong contraction around 3pm. I called out to my little brother, held his hand so tightly, after it had gone he said he was calling mom(who was at work(where I was due to give birth🤭),just 5mins away).i said he shouldn't as it was just th 1st 1, but he insisted, glad he did coz wen she got home I was having a bloody show.

I labored at home for a bit & we only left at 17:40.We drove to th clinic,I sat in th front seat while bearing labour pains.

We arrived and I jumped out of th car and went straight to th labour ward🤣 to mine and mom's surprise,I was already 6cm dilated. Th midwife broke my waters, I labored more and vomited my lunch before 6pm, to which she commented was a sign baby wld be here soon (before 7 and she was on th money!).I labored in bed as th contractions worsened. It was most difficult for me whenever I wld feel th urge to push before time and to lay on my back to be checked mid contractions😅,at some point I was asked to do that and I screamed "I can't!"🤣

Finally I was given th green light to start pushing,it was difficult for me. But I finally did it. She arrived at 18:49pm 10-11-2020 (same day), weighing 4,075kg.I felt so relieved.

Now they had to get th placenta out, they said because my labour & delivery was very quick (just under 4hours) it was still stuck in there, after 10-15mins I had contractions again & I pushed it out at 1,3kg. Had th tiniest stitch. I did however, lose a lot of blood and was kept overnight on an IV, th bleeding normalized & we went home th next morning. I think i can also honestly said I had a great birth experience and fear th next won't be so "nice". Just having nightmare feeding i have 0 milk and had to go on meds to stimulate lactation

    😍😍😍sweet sweet baby boy
  • Settling well with a Rollercoaster of emotions😬
  • Hi ladies, sorry its been a while..  congrats to everyone that's recently had their babies! 😊 hope you're all doing well! Me & Mallory are doing fine, she's now been put on vitamin D drops due to her liver functioning and has to go back on the 17th of December for more bloods! 😪 but im hoping this will be the last time, so horrible watching them have to pin her down to get a needle in either her hand or foot but I know its for the best! She recently got weighed aswell, she's now weight 11lb7oz. She'll be 5 weeks on Monday, can't believe how quick it has gone!

This picture was her at 2 weeks and now at 4! Same outfit, just 2 weeks difference! (Definitely don't think she'll get much more of a wear out of it though 😅😅) Its crazy how quickly they change.

  • Ladies! How is everyone doing?

  • Good to hear from you @MrsBeeL All is well this end. Bella is 10weeks old now. It’s been a rollercoaster but we are in the swing of things now. How are you? X
  • Massive rollercoaster here too!
joshua is 10 weeks yesterday. He’s absolutely huge still.
He’s got a serious umbilical hernia that we’re waiting to see the specialist at alder hey about to see if he needs an operation but other than that we are well.
I’m still on blood pressure medication but it’s coming down now.
Having 2 under 2 has been quite a challenge but we’re getting there!
