Getting baby to sleep in their crib

Hi my baby is 6 weeks old and since he's been born its been a constant struggle to get him to sleep in his crib at night. He falls asleep on me and then when I try and put him down he wakes straight back up again. I was wondering of anyone has any tips on ways to help? Many thanks
