DVM: Delayed visual maturation
in Baby
hi i actually started a link in children with special needs and not had much luck, was just wondering if there were other mums who'd been through or going through this with their children, guess i'm wondering just how rare or common it is figured there are so many mums on here i can;t be the only one?

Appointment went fine thank you. At the moment they are still going with dvm as they said his eyes seemed to have all it needs to see and he definitely responded to light but not much else, so i have to go back in 8 weeks and see if its fixed itself, 15 April., then if not they'll start to do more tests but didn't want them done this early as still time and not nice for lo (obviously!)
yes got a vista coming tomorrow (26/2) looking forward to it as with any luck she'll have some helpful hints. haven't gone mad with buying toys but got myself a few flashing, moving reflecting thingys.
How's your little lot doing, esp new little alex?
Vista appointment went ok thank you they flashed stuff at him and just told me to basically do what i'm already doing, not seeing them again until after next visit to specialist. i've not been told what tests they will do yet, i'd imagine they'll not decide until they see him again but they had mentioned mri last time around.
i am very pleased he responds to light as it's meant to be a very good sign but it seems to only be very bright light or sun in his eyes at the moment, i've yet to get him interested in colour flashing toys but am still trying. i keep putting rattles in his hand which he manages to control very well and happens to love tom jones on the radio! so i'm pleased for the small things that give him pleasure.
Anyway still trying to get his attention so hopefully time will fly and all will be resolved. hope all is going well with you and you've been enjoying mother's day with your bundles of joy.
Thanks!!!
