does anyone have a nanny?

hi i am now thinking of going back to work, but oh works funny hours that change every week so we are going to have to use some kind of paid childcare.

we have a 3yr old and 3 mths old, oldest has been in nursery before but hated it (she goes for her 2.5 hours a day but no more than that)

in any case all the jobs im applying for involve working in the evenings or early morns when nursery/childminders dont operate.

so wondered if anyone has a nanny?how you get one and how much they cost? is it alot more than nursery? we only work in minimum wage jobs and prob cant afford it but just wondered

  • hey,

I would recommend you contact a couple of local agencys to find out more, sorry cant be more help than that, do a google search or phone book?

hopefully it will be less for you than having to pay for 2 children to attend nursery
  • Hi

Some friends of ours were going to get an Au Pair.

You need to have a spare room as they live inand they told us you pay around ??42 a week. Perhaps you could look into that if you have the room and feel comfortable with someone living in your home.
