A weaning Q for anyone who has done purees

A quick weaning Q...
If I offer Adam a puree that he is not keen on, I know I am meant to offer it again a week or so later.
However, if I offer him something at lunchtime and he is not keen on it, do I just end the meal? or do I make him something I know he *does* like to make sure he has eaten enough?
