  • we made my LO baby vests when she was a few weeks old with some in house slogans on them. they were mainly about my disablility and my husbands weight but to other PC police then they could be seen as bad.
(they are in my june/july alubms on facebook if you want to look)
  • My friend asked if she could buy my daughter a t-shirt with 'im proof my mum is easy' on it. NO WAY would i ever put that on my daughter.
  • i think sex refference ones are innapropriate and i wouldnt let my child wear one not even at home, the BJ one just screams chav to me
  • haven't read all the posts but sexual reference t shirts for kids are extremely inappropriate but what I find more worrying is the styles of some little girls clothes. they mirror adult woman's clothing and thats not right!

I hate to see little girls in cropped tops, short skirts and heels. little girls should be little girls and not mirror their mothers!

  • there seem to be so many of these around recently!

Sexual content on them is just wrong, and I saw a child of about 8 years old the other week walking around with one basically glorifying alcohol abuse (can't remember the exact words). I thought it's just not right or very responsible of the parents.....
  • I also wouldn't like to see t-shirts with sexual slogans on a baby or child and there's no way I'd put anything with sexual references on mine. I actually didn't like a comment a friend made to my baby the other day.. she basically said that she sounds like she makes orgasmic noises. No, she's a baby and she makes all kinds of oooh aahh noises like all babies!
As for "Frankie says relax" as far as I remember the song was about homosexual sex? But I could be wrong! But it definitely doesn't mean anything to most people nowadays I think so I wouldn't have a problem with that t-shirt or think the parents irresponsible.

  • DS is currently wearing a top that says 'Boys will be boys' on it from Next.

He's got a few other slogans but nothing bad....He has a lot of character tops like Fireman Sam, Thomas, Postman Pat & Scooby doo...& Superman

I never thought I'd put him in many clothes with logos on etc but I see them and think ooh thats nice!

  • a friend bought us one for our daughter that said 'peado magnet' i was pretty horrified tbh!

Who would put that on their baby? I would probably put her in a frankie says relax t-shirt tho as i don't see the harm, she already has a blondie 'call me' and the rolling stones 'lick' t-shirts and we made her some babygros when she was smaller with slogans on 'nobody puts baby in the corner' etc,,, some are funny but others are innapropriate

I hate it when you see little girls dressed like adults.. i went in bhs to find my niece a bday pressie the other day and was really shocked to find backless vests, see-through lacy dresses and high heels in her age - she is seven years old for goodness sake!

  • OMG alex really thats out of order! did they think it was funny?
  • Ewww....that's an awful slogan! Paedo magnet...shocking! Proper case of failure to engage brain me thinks. We have one that says Granny Magnet that I love though!
  • I honestly can't believe that first someone would make that top, and second that someone would even think about buying it. I'm actually shocked!!
  • 'peado magnet' is just plain sick!

I too hate seeing little girls dressed like adults. My daughter is nine and it can be so difficult sometimes finding her normal child clothes, and some of them look like things I would have gone clubbing in at 18! It's a culture thing too though. My girl is already asking when she'll be allowed to wear make up - and it's certainly not my doing, all i wear is foundation!
  • One of the breastfeeding companies make a t shirt that says "I'm a tit man". Although i think its quite funny I would not put my child in it.
  • i kno! i just told her straight that i didn't think it was appropriate and that i wouldn't put my baby in it. She took it back to the shop and got one that said 'daddy's little princess' on it instead...

to be honest can't see why a shop would sell such a thing in the first place image the friend who bought it thought it was hilarious but my oh was really pissed off about it - he said to her that she would see why when sh had kids of her own.. altho tbh i don't think u need a kid to understand why that is just wrong!

  • I am aghast at 'paedo magnet', I really am.

At one of our playgroups there's a girl of about two and a half who wears these wedge sandals, an ankle bracelet and has painted toe nails. I think that's taking 'dressing up' a little too far.

Ankle bracelet & painted toenails could be cute (though 2 1/2 is a little young - maybe 4?) but I hate, hate, hate little girls in heels - it's sick - heels are terrible for adult feet let alone tiny girls feet that are still growing!
  • It's Clarks shoes or crocs and definitely NO paedo/pornstar tops for my 2yr old girl thank you very much!!! Who makes these things?!?
