hun ur body will still produce milk and it will gradually dry up, so u will prob leak slightly. when i had my 1st it only took a week to dry up but when i had my 2nd it took 17wks to dry up!!! so it does vary in every1. xxx
It depends what happens for you to stop! If you are mixed feeding and gradually produce less it will be easier to stop! If you are going to stop from completely BF then you need to cut down gradually otherwise your breasts will engorge and become really painful and you will leak!
When Lily turned 7 months I switched her daytime on-demand bfs to 2 ffeeds in preparation for going back to work. She still has 2 bfs a day, am and pm, but although I was expecting discomfort or leakage I found that I didn't even notice.
I guess I'd been gradually cutting down the bfs ever since I started weaning, though, so I agree that gradually is the way to do it.
