I have just found out that I am pregnant, and around 4/5 weeks. I run my own business from home and wondered if anyone is in the same position and can advise on how maternity allowance works.

Also self employed I had to go back to work earlier than expected so didn't claim for long but you need to get a form from you mw (can't remember what it is called) that you send in along with the maternity allowance form, it was quite easy apart from the fact that when i tried to call no one could tell me what department dealt with it anymore, but i think thats quite standard with any claim!
