Back to work...it wasn't all that bad

Hi ladies, i went back to work on monday and it wasn't as bad as i expected. Imogen was with grandma all day and had a great time, then she was at nursery yesterday (very grizzly due to her teeth) and then again with grandma this morning and i finished work at 12.45pm with the biggest smile on my face knowing that i am now off work until Monday when we have to start all over again. I will definitely appreciate my days off with Imogen and plan to make the most of every single second. I missed her loads obviously but knowing she was happy made me happy. Good luck to everyone going back to work soon...hope it goes well for you.

  • I went back at start of Jan & it's ok, lo is well looked after at childminders 4 days a week & with my mum 1 day a week. I am enjoying using my brain & find the time spent with lo, morning bottle & brekkie time, then evenings & weekends are much more fullfilling. I wasn't very good about doing groups or activities so he is def getting more out of being with the cm as she does a group every day & he loves being with the older kids she looks after too. He has become really socialble after being quite clingy before & not wanting to be left with other people at all so thats a relief for me too.

He hs shown no adverse effects to being with her 7 we haven't had any secondary issues that some people talk about, lo not wanting to goto mum or getting upset when left etc & apart from the need to have my wage, I think it is healthy for them to be with other people.

In an ideal world I would only work part time but as I work from home I see lo a lot more than other fulltime working mums (6hrs a day =3hrs with me in morning then 6hrs with cm, then 3hrs in evening with me & oh) & for that I am grateful.
  • i've been back at work for a few weeks now and am enjoying the time apart from lo that sounds terrible but when i see lo again i'm just as excited as him.
I don't have any friends really where i live and we don't have family up here so its nice to socialise for me and my lo gets loads out of going to nursery.
the only problem we've been having is when lo is ill i just have to drop work and stay at home. and hes ill again now for the second time in 4 weeks.
