Nursery or a childminder, which would you choose?
I am going back to work in October & am looking into childcare for my LO, it would be for 3 days a week. I am weighing up whether to take her to nursery or use a childminder.

A childminder is a home environment with a varied age range of children where a nursery is child focused and he would be with children his own age, childminder may be able to provide more one to one time but you would have to find alternative child care when your childminder is on holiday, write a list of what you want, arrange a meeting with both and see who you feel most comfortable with x
I would be worried that the childminder would only have 1 or 2 other children to play with and what if he didn't get on with one or both of them. I also think the nursery cna do more with him because they have more facilities, more staff, more toys......!
You really should work out what you want your child to get from childcare and which one suits you both. On the flip side my best friend is pregnant and planning on a childminder as she thinks it'll suit her better! Everyone is different, a nursery is better for my son but that's just my opinion!
There are advantages and disadvantages to both but as my daughter is only 8months old I like the idea that she will have more focused one on one care and will really get to know her childminder, who I hope will almost become an extension of our family. One thing that I was especially pleased about was that the childminder will take my daughter to a different activity/class each morning, so she will get the chance to interact with more children. The afternoons are focused play/creative time at the childminders house. For me, this feels like a nice mix.
If I were you I would go and visit a few of both and see what vibe you get from them.
