How should I approach pottery store owners?


As our Baby plan seems to be working out quite well on the physical side, we were hit with the news that the financial conditions have changed (read: unexpected job loss for my hubby). While staying positive and looking for solutions, we decided to develop an approach to garden shops, to see if they would possibly be interested to purchase my decorative pottery (maybe I can turn that hobby into a source of income). Now, what could be the most efficient way of approaching them? A friend suggested getting some catalogues printed online and sending them to store owners to be followed up with a call, but that seems to be quite pricy, others told me I should worry about a live-contact first, during which even a basic online portfolio should be enough. Does anyone have any additional suggestions, just so that I have more than two options to consider?
