    Hi Poppy 12

we are nearly the same. I will be 41 in January and in April just gone I had a miscarriage at just under 12 weeks, having only tried to conceive for 1 month. Have been trying since and having no luck. I think I usually ovulate around day 17 as my cycles range from 31-33 days. Its just so hard to know what is going on. I'm of course worried that it is because of my age but I am very healthy otherwise. So know you are not alone and fx you get a bfp soon

thankyou for writing in response to me post. i feel confused and very concerned. i have i know left thing late but i really didnt have much chance as i have been ill with long standing bullimia for many years. i am now at normal weight and my periods are very regular to the day as clockwork. i feel maybe my miscarrage is blocking my thoughts as i feel cheated and angry that i had to endure the horririd experience. i was quite ill with it . i have an apt booked at a clinic for 9 dec . i really hoped i wouldnt have to go down that route. will keep going but its all stressful . keep praying that what i do .

Good luck Poppy 12. I'm 38 I have 3 children and decided we would love a 4th to finish off! Sadly I lost our little boy at 21 weeks and we were traumatised by the whole process of giving birth and going home with only a box of memories then a 6 week wait for a funeral:( I've had 2 chemical pgs since. I fall pg ok but babies aren't sticking. All results from tests are normal and I'm fit and healthy. There is no explanation and my gynaecologist says it's nothing to do with my age. It's very stressful when we know time isn't on our side. What we have to do is try to relax as the stress hormone can overtake our bodies which can stop fertility in its tracks!! Let's hope we all get our bfps very soon:) good luck xxx

Hi Poppy,  me and my husband take pregnacare trying to conceive vitamins I feel it's very important to take these:)

also do you use opks? These really help you pin point ovulation therefore conceiving might be quicker:)

hi yes i have tried women pregnacare but i wasntctaking to them was sick and at toilet too much. soon as i took one my stomach churned within half hour. ive been taking seven seas trying for a baby ones no issues with them . i do though feel they may not be enough . says not to take other vits with them. my partner has been taking the well man conception ones for few months. im very worried about seeing a specialist as i fear they tell me i cant concieve. i only have ever once tried and it happened in less than two months!. nothing since. i know many on these sites who have managed to have ba ies in later 40s  with miscarrages . i fear that bit .just want a healthy pregnancy . my other concern is that no sooner i finish a period  i ovulate 4 days later is this an issue? i always use ovulation pk clearblue no digital the ones put in wee. work better . i found with the others i wernt  ovulating it never had a solid smiley  face just kept flashing . i thought i wasnt ovulating ! . im reguar as cloc kwork.

I don't think early ovulation is an issue its the luteal phase that's more important over 10 day is seen as OK mine's 14 from ovulation to AF which is average. I take pregnacare and evening primrose oil 1500-3000 strength per day  is recommended from AF to ovulation day( not after ovulation as it contracts the uterus) which helps nourish uterus by toning the muscles it helps increase cervical mucus thus easier for sperm to travel to destination!! Promotes hormone balance worth a go!!

I would ask your gynaecologist about ovulating so early anything from 10-14 is classed as average anything too low can apparently mean a decreasing ovarian reserve but I guess as we get older that's to be expected!

Ask your GP to do an fsh test? This gives you an idea of your ovarian reserve it's a simple blood test. I think it's something than can get help for aswel:) blood test is done day 3 AF.

    hope this helps x

explain what the luteal phase is i ovulate day 9 or 10 from start of period and my cycle is 26 days . Af? is what sorry not up on the abrevs.

  • Options

Day 9 or 10 is fine you should be ok then!:) luteal phase is how long between ovulation day and AF arriving so count up and that's your lp anything 10 and over is fine mines 14 as I have a 28 day cycle which is average!

i had some blood test at doc recently said was nothing wrong . but im worried now you said that.

If bloods are normal then all good. I had them done on day 3 of AF asked to have the 21 day ones next but doctor said not to bother as my first set were normal! Personally I'd of liked them all done. If you've had the tests and were normal then you shouldn't worry. Mine are all normal so just a little miffed as to why I mc now?! I think our bodies are very complicated but very clever at the same time! Worrying doesn't help I had anxiety treatment for 6 weeks to help me relax I recommend it!!

Apparently acupuncture is brilliant for trying to conceive too I'm reading up on it at the moment works wonders for some ladies.  It's about £35 per session for 40 mins and great for fertility balancing hormones and getting blood flow to the uterus etc google it and make sure they are Zeta West affiliated x

i didnt have the tests done at a certain time just tested hormone functioning fsh . what does acupuncture do where u have it on body?

im interested in the accupunture do u know of sucuss from it. zeta west??

If you google Zita West shes in London very highly qualified fertility specialist I've got her book and it's very informative.

google "Zita West affiliated clinics for acupuncture"put your postcode in and it will tell you who has a clinic locally.

i live in Sidcup and there's 3 clinics near me around £35 per session all within a couple of miles!. The needles go wherever helps that particular area I believe hand, feet, arm etc they don't hurt very fine. According to a couple of ladies it makes your abdomen feel quite heavy and regulates hormones etc. Another lady on here as just fallen pg after a handful of sessions! I think it is worth a try:)

hi yes i did follow up the suggestion i found one near me in york well 12 or so miles . i text her and she say 38 fir first session then 34 for other apts. i will think it over . i have an apt at a fertility centre in leeds dec. i will ask my gp if my bloods were ok or need re testing. it been good to converse with someone who relates to similar thing. how many sessions would be needed .

  • Options

I'm not sure on that but I know they do blocks of 6 sessions here,so whether that's what recommended. The other lady on the acupuncture thread has had a few and fallen pg but is carrying on with the sessions as apparently it helps with implantation and sickness early on! I'm very interested but as you say it's how many you need and the cost in total. I'm not working at the mo so I'll have to convince hubby first!!

  • Options

umm i too not working i would have to fund my self. was hoping things would work themselves out asap. well before dec . my heads awash with questions and whats going to happen at the clinic. dont know anyone who been through it  to give me reasurance.

I really don't know if it's coincidence and would these ladies have fallen pg anyway?! My hubby says I've fallen pg no problem b4 he isn't convinced! If it worked be worth the £175!  I'd only do 5 sessions and you get one free. Who knows! If you do it,let me know how u get on ! Good luck with your ttc journey x
