  • Oh no sorry to hear that EmyLou how are things now? Did they manage to take your bloods Mrs BeeL? No update really from me still awaiting AF :-( and two pregnancy announcements so far at work too

  • Hey 5 stabs, 2 nurses, 1 doctor and a labs/bloods specialist later they found a vein!

  • Fingers crossed for good results for you tomorrow Mrs BeeL

  • OH MYGOSH MrsBee that SOunds like a nightmare! Can’t wait to hear your results though! After your experience today you really deserve them to be fab!

I have just had a scan and they can’t see anything too odd. Endometriosis was mentioned though so I have to have another scan when I’m not on. Cramps aren’t as bad today. Can I ask how bad your AF cramps are? My CD 1 cramos have always been pretty hideous (I have to have painkillers) but yesterday was another level!

  • Hi Emy Lou a diagnosis of endometreosis can only be reliable via a procedure called a laproscopy so please don't panic just yet. The only thing they'll see on an ultrasound that they may diagnose on is an endometrioma which 30-40% of people with endometreosis have. Didn't you also say your tubes are clear? That's a good sign if you do have it.

I only know as I had a Caesarean with my son and the surgeon said she saw endo patches but failed to document it in my notes so if clomid doesn't work for me I'll be booked in for a laproscopy to check for endometreosis. It is known to be v painful and typically involves heavy periods etc. I wouldn't say I have particularly heavy or very painful periods I don't flood pads or anything like that. If I do get pain I  don't find it bothersome but I've read and been told by consultant they are if you have endometreosis most women tend to know about it because of the pain and heaviness etc.

Hope that helps a bit x

  • I am pretty sure it should be good results tomorrow... so fingers crossed.

I occasionally have bad af cramps but a hot water bottle or painkiller at the first sign does me.

However i have had a cyst burst which was horrific! And had another cyst grow quite large and had to have it removed with a laparoscopy and that was constant pain until it was out in April!

  • Thankyou both. My periods are very very painful on day 1 and 2 but not overly heavy so I’m hoping it’s not endo. My tubes were ‘open’ but on the left tube she reallly had to force the dye through which did worry me a little as DH doesn’t exactly force it through with a tube and syringe! Haha.

I asked for a lap but my dr said I had to have an ultrasound for cysts first! If endo isn’t in your tubes or uterus - how doesn’t it prevent conception? Iv been trying to research tonight.

Lise, are you any closer to AF?

I have just taken my first Clomid pill of the cycle..! Here We go again!

  • I think it causes scarring and sticky patches if I'm understanding it correctly. I've never had my tubes checked. Wow that's good if they do give you a lap after an ultrasound.. I'm not even looking at a lap till I've had six rounds of clomid. Tbh I'm really worried about needing one.

Nah still no hint of AF on the way it's starting to get me down if I'm honest. Are you on 50mg cycle again?

  • Sorry I typed that confusingly - they are giving ne another ultrasound an then I may be referred for a lap & dye. My family dr hadn’t really heard of endo & i has to tell him that it can only be seen via a lap!!!! I have another appointment at the fertility clinic in Feb so I will mention it then.

yes I’m doing 50 again, my nurse thinks I ovulated 2 eggs on that with my levels so I don’t really want to risk taking more!!

Oh Lise I feel so bad for you - I don’t know what to suggest it must be soooo frustrating!!! :( it’s strange wanting your period to come I expect!! big hugs

  • Happy to report I did in fact ovulate :) i only spoke to the receptionist so didn’t get told my actual levels - she wasn’t even supposed to give me a result but as it was good news she decided to break the rules haha. Wish I knew my levels but just happy 50mg actually worked and I had a horrible Headache so wouldn’t want to increase it any more!!!

dont worry Lise. You’re body will get there. And I was told if af didn’t come I could take a pg test and restart at 6 weeks after i last took chlomid.

I think the more we worry the more our body plays up. It’s amazing The power our thoughts have over how our body responds

  • Hi both

Sorry busy day at work. Yes it's frustrating feel like I'm in limbo not knowing what to do really and it's hard not knowing if it's even worked and I ovulated or not. I'm not sure I'm comfortable taking next round without an AF does it still work the same etc? I'm CD33 today so suppose it's not massively late...yet! I'm going to have to wait it out till CD42 then I reckon if it's 6 weeks since first pill. I think what's bothering me is what if I start clinic without is there a chance I'd come on then what happens? Sorry for the questions you seem better informed than me. Excellent news for you Mrs BeeL :-)

How are you today emylou? Hope the pains gone or at least eased off

  • You still could have ovulate, Just later on so have a few more days to go.

Well I took them without af.. and I’ve been advised to do so again if I need to.

its 6 weeks after LAST pill. I think if you do come on it’s fine. My understanding is After the first couple of pillols the hormones won’t work to get af... so should be fine. They weren’t worried about that with me Anyway...

as a PCOS sufferer you almost never know when af is coming if you’re irregular, and maybe the chlomid made you irregular if you were regular as t changes your hormone pattern...

  • Ahh OK I understand it a bit more now thank you Mrs BeeL much appreciated Ahh so if it's six weeks since last pill then I'm looking at 24th Jan so it'd be CD47. Yeah same I've never been regular so never know when to expect AF but I'm sure my consultant said if it's working you'll come on as normal eg around 28 days like a regular person if not its not working that's why I've been feeling worried and down thinking its not working

  • Eveninf both.

MrsBee I’m delighted for you! What dpo are you today and are you going to test or wait it out?

Lise I reckon you shoukd go for it after 6 weeks - im sure it really can’t do much harm. Clomid is really known for delaying periods. my cramps are better - thanks for asking - but still a lot worse than usual. I have to keep on top on the painkillers!

Cd2 Clomid on board too, no side effects so far :)

  • I am cd23 so 8/9dp! I’m trying to wait as long as possible. I do have early test buuuuuut... I’m getting nervous at the thought of it already!!!

  • Also getting some cramps on and off now

  • Do you usually get cramps before AF?

I reckon you are safe to test at 10 or 11 dpo, early ones would show by then. I was initially gutted when I got a bfn but now I’m excited again for round 2.

  • No I don’t. Could still be implantation cramps. Or just af because of chlomid... who knows... I will find out in a few days.

  • So I’m 9 or 10 dpo today, 10/11 tomorrow... trying to decide whether to test or not... I don’t want a bfn because of testing too early... but if it’s bfn I want to know... and if it’s a bfp I definitely want to know!

  • If you want to know either way then I vote POAS

No change at all for me finding it hard to not be disheartened now tbh CD34 for me
