Stopping birth control mid-pack

Hi so around October 2018 I stopped taking my birth control midpack because I didn’t like the effects it was having on me (I know this isn’t the smartest idea but I couldn’t stand being on it any longer in order to finish the pack). About six weeks later when my period came again I started taking a different brand of the birth control pill and ever since then I’ve had light bleeding and cramps for a couple days during my active pills in addition to the light breakthrough bleeding during my placebo week. Could this mean my birth control is ineffective since I’m still bleeding during my active pills? And since I started taking my birth control again when my cycle wasn’t entirely back to normal?
