Irregular periods

Hi I’m 19 years old and my period cycle is 39 days long this being classed as irregular I’m so scared that I’m infertile and can’t have children when I’m older. I’ve never missed a period or had heavy ones but they’ve just been coming every 39 days is this normal. I also suffered with depression for 3 years at 16 and I can get very stressed over nothing could this be a cause.
Thank you.

  • Hi Charlotte,

I would ask your dr if you're really worried but, cycles can be anywhere from 21 to 35 days in adults and from 21 to 45 days in teens. Since you're a teen a 39 day cycle isn't very strange and as long as it is coming every 39 days or so it should be fine. It may gradually shorten as you get older or maybe not. But I wouldn't worry about it :)
