Forum home Getting pregnant Conception & fertility problems

29 F & 38 M

Hi guys

First time i am posting on a TTC space.
I wondered if anyone had any thoughts around this.

Im 29 and my husband is 38.
4 years ago we went for a fertility MOT just to see where we were at for the distant future.
My internal scan and follicular count came back fine. My husbands analysis came back low sperm motility - Asthenoteratozoospermia.

The consultant was quick to say this can improve by his life style changes ie: cutting caffeine down. He was also on anti depressants for about 1.5 years. He came off those about 3.5 years ago now.

I guess it didn't mean that much as we weren't looking to try back then.

We have now been trying for 5 cycles and in the back of my head I'm concerned, with the 6 month mark lingering and every month I'm anxious & it's really affecting my mental health.

Does anyone have any advice on next steps or what they would do?

Thanks in advance

  • TTC, even in people with no issues, can take up to 12 months. According to the stats, over 80% of couples get pregnant after 8 month of planning. Stay positive and do not give up.
