Hello ladies! Just wanted to comment on this old thread to tell you if you have pcos don't give up! You must have patience it does take time to get pregnant when having pcos but not impossible with diet or meds. I was diagnosed with pcos after having tried 2 years to fall pregnant. I do not have periods they stopped once I came off the pill. We tried one year naturally then consulted my gyno who put me on 3 rounds clomid with no success. We took a break the fourth month and went to see a fertility specialist. They diagnosed me with the pcos, low progesterone and an anti body that attacks pregnancy and said to call them once I got a period. I had breast tenderness the next week took a test and got a positive! I credit it to the clomid. Had a healthy pregnancy and our lil boy is one this week. Sometimes all it takes is change in diet or others I know took clomid and metaforin. good luck And baby dust to you all!

Hi everyone I got told a year and a half ago after I had experienced 2 miscarriages that I had PCOS they found a "text book" case is what they told me I have some really bad periods and sometimes I never have one they are all over the place and some times the pains I get are terrible I have so many cysts and I have been rushed into hospital due to them bursting they have put me on different medications at present I'm being treated for diabetes that I don't have but can help my ovaries I have always been BMI 24/30 but mainly healthy weight I have cut sugar and everything that is unhealthy me and my partner have been trying for 8 months now and nothing yet but forever hopeful I have another hospital appointment due very soon as they are going to maybe look at the drilling operation for me but reading other stories on here and many people talking me I always remain optimistic I just want people to not think that their world is going to stop because they have been told they have PCOS because that isn't always the truth good luck to everyone and hope to see many of you saying that your expecting soon x hopefully I will be joining you soon x

hi ladies I hope this helps some people.

I have one of the worst cases of PCOS. I was diagnosed 10 years ago.  Iv had several miscarriages.

I was transferred to a gynecologist for medical help as me and my husband wanted a child.

I was put metmorfin to help with some of the symptoms for PCOS. I was also been given a pill to regulate a bleed  (as I had none to possibly 1 a year if I was lucky) ???? I was also given clomid to help me ovulate. I was placed on this for 6 months but this didn't work for me.????

I was then booked in to have my ovaries drills."They do this to help ladies to ovulate if medication doesn't work"

Unfortunately for me this operation didn't work in fact one of my ovaries become worse. One ovary  was now multicystic ovary syndrome.  And the other was pcos . On top of that I had endometriosis which they found during the operation and removed most of this while under the knife.

"My body just didnt want to ovulate".

After about 3 months recovery I was then giving hormone injections this was to try to make me ovulate. As you can imagine I didn't really get excited. Nothing seems to work at first but my ovaries started releasing eggs.???? wow I thought nearly 4 years down the line. ???? however, my eggs didn't fertilize we tried so many times over about 4 months. At this point I was ready to give up but the gynecologist said he was going to transfer me after all these years to the IVF clinic to actually have IVF...

Within a week I received my letter from the IVF clinic inviting me to go meet them. We booked appointment within 2 months and then we just have to sit and wait.

My mother in law was diagnosed with cancer in her breast which had spread to her liver. Everyone's worst nightmare I can imagine????. I put my mother in law first inline and help her with everything. It was helping me too. (Well it would have been selfish for me to be excited about IVF,  while she's suffering with a terminal illness)

My IVF appointment soon caught up one week away. As instructions on the IVF clinic you have to send off samples of your urine, blood etc before you go.

At this point I actually found out I was pregnant. I was absolutely blown away after 4 and a half years of having treatment I actually fell pregnant on my own.... loosing the weight and taking your mind off it really works.

My daughter is now 6 months old.

Please I know my story is long but honestly.  If I can do it anyone can.

** on the plus side my mother in law is still here. Fighting cancer..  we was told her time was up before my little girl landed and she's a fighter, and still going strong **

I'm now going start trying for my second baby and hopefully fingers crossed, it will be easier now iv already had one. ????

Good luck to you all xxx

So happy for you, same thing happened to me. My only choice was ivf. Which we decided against it. I didn't ovulate and my husband has slow sperms, not just that but low count aswell. It was a true miracle that I became pregnant on my own. I couldn't belive when my test came positive, I started crying.  I'm now 6 months pregnant and we couldn't be happier. Still sometimes I can't believe this is happening, but she moves inside me and I know is happening.

Good Morning  how are u you ladies on this beautiful sunday morning,  I'm trying to conceive, but just recently found out that I have pcos and that I'm not allowed to fall pregnant anytime soon. I was given birth control to prevent me from falling pregnant, my periods are irregular and I have it very bad, so I wanted to know if there are any advice or other options for me to conceive naturally without any birth control or medication please. Thank you I would appreciate it dearly.

Hey Ladies. I was diagnosed with pcos at 16 my hormones and ovaries were in a bad way for years... I don't have periods, well maybe 1 very light one a year. I don't conceive easily until I take Metformin and within a month I'm pregnant. I have two beautiful children who were full term and healthy. I haven't had any miscarriages or complications. I do suffer from pcos symtoms, most of them but I find when I'm eating better my cravings are down and my symptoms are few. Hope this helps someone x P's I'm 32

ugh. I'm going through the same thing Girl. I had a major trauma happen when I was 13 & had completely stopped getting my period. When I was 16, I had gotten my period once & it had stopped all together again. Finally, after many years of not knowing what was wrong with me, ( I am 26 now) they have diagnosed me with pcos. I have only had my period once this year. I am also being told that if I don't take these meds & if I wait another year or two, my chances of conceiving will be next to none.

This is thread has enlightened me a little as all of your experiences have a beautiful story. I really hope I can conceive...

I found out I have pcos when I was16 years old I didn't really think about having kids at that point in time I was with my previous spouse for 5 years and tried everything to have a baby went to many different doctors was on a bunch of different medication nothing work it was very upsetting but me and him are no longer together I have a new partner and we were not trying I explained to him the complications ihave and he was very understanding we recently went to the doctor because I notice that I was having some wired symptoms that made no sense to me and we found out we are having a baby I am now 2 months along and things are going well so far the doctor says I'm a low risk pregnancy because I was carful with my pcos I ate healthy watched my weight exercised and dis what I was ment to so it can happen where you get pregnant with pcos o think as long as you take care of yourself and don't put to much stress on your self and your body to conceive

HI Ladies , I hope you all are well , just some words of encouragement , you can overcome pCOS , the three main things that can be done is eating healthy , cutting out all sugar , and exercising, Being one who was diagnosed with PCOS 2 months ago i have started with Metformin XR and have been eating healthy . Let me tell each and every one of you , i personally know how devastating it can be especially when you trying to conceive but there is hope . I have put my complete trust in the Lord for he knows our hearts desires and i will pray for each of you to be healed . I currently thing that i am pregnant now but waiting for another week till i do the test . I am confident that the little bundle of Joy that my husband and i await will be with us soon . So cheer up ladies and stay strong !!!!!!! Your time is yet to come . Stay Blessed !!! :)

Hiya, I diagnosed myself about 10 years ago with pcos and docs confirmed this, been ttc for a year and a half now, after a lot of research I decided to try metformin as once i stopped the pill my periods started off regular and slowly started to take longer to come even though I had regular monthly signs of ovulation and positive ov tests - so why wasn't I pregnant yet???? - my doctor said because my periods weren't regular to my ovulation my womb wasn't ready to accept a fertile egg!!!! Never heard this before but makes sense!!!!! So even if we fertilise an egg each month our womb has to be ready too, so after 10 weeks of no period I started metformin and got my period straight away and excactly 4 weeks after that, just waiting to take a test in the next few days, this drug also lowers the risk of miscarriage, maybe this is something u could consider trying???? Hope this helps!

Hi Kazgreen , each person is different and their bod reacts differently , yes the metformin certainly helps , why you didnt fall pregnant i cannot say but what i do know is that stick to a balanced diet extra veggies , no unhealthy stuff and exercise , cut out on all starch . and then try , even once you fal pregnant you continue with the metformin for 3 months that reduces the chances of miscarriage . Stay blessed i ope you get good news as well
