  • Hi,

I am 25yrs old and got married in Feb 2015. Six months ago I found that I am suffering from PCOS. Since my wedding I am trying o conceive. I am also on medication where my Gyaene has put me on some hormonal tablets. Two days ago I had a TVS ultra sound and found still cysts exist and my doctor says it would take a long time to get rid of this disease.

I m dying to have a baby. I am very hopeless. Please share if you have any idea to get rid of this problem.

    Thanks in advance!

It was devastating when I first found out as well but iF u follow what I say and also try to lose weight your hormones will start balancing

  • Hi Amzi. What medication has the doctor prescribed you? It seems like you are doing everything right. Unfortunately sometimes pregnancy takes time even for those without pcos. You cannot "get rid" of pcos only manage your symtoms if any. Are you taking folic acid? I know some women with difficulties due to pcos and it kick started it all. I would suggest taking that for a few months and if by February you haven't managed to fall pregnant see your doctor again, that's around a year right?. Remember to not stress as that will definitely slow things down try and have a break from it all (I know easier said than done) and focus on something else. You will be surprised what happens when you're not looking. Hope this helps :)

  • I have been struggling with PCOS and infertility for 3 years, and finally got my BFP. My fiance finally said he couldn't handle the stress , so we stopped trying and got pregnant the first month. My doctor insisted I stay on the metformin even though we decided not to try. And I still drank grapefruit juice to help with cm. Just keep your chin up, and reduce stress. And maybe at some point try 3-6 of birth control. I did that earlier this year before we quit doing all the crazy scientific stuff.

  • hi so me and my partner have been trying for a baby for 6 years now we had been trying for a year when I found out I had pcos I was 19 at the time and was told I could never have kids and I was devastated and I gave up hope of ever being a mum although we never stopped trying and hoping for a miracle it has yet to happen for us when I was told about my pcos I was told nothing about it and wasn't over weight at the time I was very active and healthy but it made no difference I moved house a year later and changed my doctor and was told it was possible to conceive but it would be difficult I was given metaformin on such a high dose it made me ill and so I couldn't take it 4 years later I have a new doctor and she has helped me loads she explained about sugar and the effects and gave me a metaformin dose my body can handle (850mg 3 times a day is apparently so high it could knock out a camel never mind my tiny 5"3 body who would have known lol) she told me about this vitamin called starflower oil and how it has natural estragen in it and how soya products are really good for helping with pcos and for the first time since I was 19 I had a natural normal period maybe pregnancy may be possible I hope so personally I guess what I'm saying is if your in my boat don't give up and quit like I did for a while it wasn't my will power it was the fact I didn't know about my pcos information is ur best friend learn all you can I hope this helps someone else in a similar position

  •  Let me tell you my story, as a ten anger I had awful cramping every month so my Gyno put me on birth control. After 5 years I met my husband and went off the birth control so we could try and start a family. After about two years I started questioning what was going on and kept being told I was too young for anything to be wrong with me, we just need to keep trying. After four years of no luck and my periods getting further and further apart I was diagnosed with PCOS.  I have done 9 rounds of Clomid 100mg over the past 11 years then was told my lining was too thin and was give Estrodial and Progesterone along with weekly ultrasounds then injections of HCG.

After living every moment by the calendar and taking a mountain of fertility pills and Metformin of 1500mg I had had enough. After taking yet another year off of all fertility meds I seen a new OBGYN who suggested I have an HSG done with a D/C. It's not fun and it is painful but with the pain of a monthly cycle I figured how bad could it get I make it through that each month and still function. I was told after the procedure I had several golf ball size polyps in my uterus and that was  probably what was keeping an egg from implanting on the uterus wall.  After having the procedure done I was told to wait three months and try to conceive again. I am now 6 months out from this and still have not had any luck.  I'm worried because I'm 34 years old 5'6 and weigh 280 lbs.  most OB or fertility specialist will tell women who have PCOS to try to conceive before the age of 35 because after that they're at too high of a risk for conceiving. I honestly don't know that kids are in my future but this disease is something  I will live with for the rest of my life. It's something that has taken it's toll not only on my body but on my marriage as well.

I honestly hope and pray that every female reading this post or reading this thread stays encouraged and is able to conceive The child they are longing for. I do t mean to be discouraging I just want women to know that with this diagnosis come a very long drawn out process and it's not going to happen over night. So be sure to have a great support system in place because you Will need it

  • Hello ladies ,

i am 26 yr old , I was dignosed with pcos when I am 21 yr . My periods actually stopped no period at all when I am taking  pill then only I have period please can anyone tell me if anyone having same problem? I am feeling so scared and very depressed

  • I am 30. I was diagnosed with PCOS at 18 after never having a period. I never got my period on my own, ever. I use progesterone every 8 months to induce a period. I have amenorrhea (lack of menstration).  I found out last weekend I was pregnant (7 weeks to be exact). My shock is surreal. I'm very nervous about miscarriage, very. I'm keeping positive thoughts tho. I've been having brown discharge but I'm hearing it's normal. I've even seen the heartbeat. It's so strange... It happened to me and I have no clue how but I'm eternally greatfu. It is possible

  • Hi lil Mrs Arabia ok u never had period did u take contraceptive pill because when I go to doctor they put me on pill taking p is not good I heard ?

  • Hi Neha,

As with any medication you take into your body they all can have bad side effects. It's based on your history and how your body will respond to the medication. As with all medication long term use can be harmful and contraceptives are no different. You know your body better than anyone and if contracepgives worked for you then that's great. Although most women diagnosed with PCOS taking the pill is not an option due to the increased risk of Heart Attack. This is why most fertility specialists subscribe estrodiol or progesterone in low doses and closely monitor their patient.

I hope this helps with your question

  • I regret taking the pill but I took mine for birth control. It depends why your taking it and if it's benefit will outweigh its down point

  • What pills have you been on? Pills to regulate your period or pills to assist with ovulating?

  • I have been on metformin and have not conceive yet but am going to the doc to be put on clomid I hope it works

  • Many of you have asked what medications a women with PCOS has taken to regulate periods and help with ovulation. Well most fertility specialists will put you on Metformin from 500mg - 1000mg ( any where from once to three times a day) they will also start you out on Clomid 50mg - 150mg for ovulation. If that does not work then they will place you on Tamoxifin and from there your looking at IVF or Invitro. Along with all of this you may be placed on progesterone or estrogen to help once you start ovulation, also injections of HCG of about 1000mg. All of this comes with multiple ultra sounds per week during your ovulation week. So yes a women with PCOS shells out a ton for fertility that may or may not work. I was diagnosed 10 years ago and been through all this with No Luck of Conceiving so I wish you all well!!!
