What do you count as CD1?

Hi Girls,
I was wondering what you count as your CD1 ?

I have a 28 day cycle, and get two days of bright red very light blood, followed by about 4/5 days of heavy flow.

What day should i count from? light or heavy? Have looked on gogle, and found conflicting advice.

You would count your first day of bleeding as CD1.

I have a similar cycle 'cept I have 2 days of light spotting and then a full on AF. I consider the full on AF as CD1 as the spotting isn't much at all...

I asked my doc the same question last month and she said the first day of ANY blood, regardless of heavy/light etc
