Moving to TTC Forum

Hi Ladies (waves),

I have been so rude and just started posting topics instead of firstly introducing myself. I have been in 'Planning a Baby' Forum for over a month and will be officially moving to TTC tomorrow. Here is a little bit about me. My name is Claire and I am 28 years old. My partner is Andrew and is 26 years old. I have been with him nearly a year but feels like longer. I am going through divorce (was married nearly 2 years). We will be TTC our first baby from tomorrow. I am excited but also very scared as I suffer from IBS and worried what that will be like if I fall pregnant and whether this makes labour even more painful. I would love a little girl exactly like my gorgeous neice (profile pic) Evie Louise but as long as the baby is happy and healthy then I don't mind what we have.

Looking forward to getting to know you. I have already made a few friends from the other forum and I am addicted to this website (should be working as we speak but what they don't know won't hurt image )
xx

  • welcome! I have only just moved into ttc since april, although didnt ever join planning. we were going to leave it till the end of the year (hubbys decision), i wanted to try from straight away as so broody and over easter decided we would stop using contracepation, just starting my 2nd 2ww. I came off the pill in october/november to get my cycles ready for ttc x
  • Thanks! I was going to stay on my pill till end of May due to our holiday coming up in June. We both decided why wait so stopped it last Thursday. I am hoping not to get too technical for first few months and just enjoy BD as usual. Obviously if after so many months we don't have any joy I will start to try and work out ovulation etc. I know some doctors say not to TTC straight away for date purpose but we can't wait. OH is working away in Scotland and the thought of TTC as soon as he gets back is keeping him going ha, bless him xx

  • awh bless him. my cycles have fallen back straight away to 28 days so ive been pretty lucky, was on the pill 6 years. we are going with a totally laid back approach and likewise will try for a while like this first. hubby seems totally against temp charting etc... we were going to wait till more financially secure as he works for corus and so is due to loose his job but whens the right time!
  • Hi Shoegal

Welcome to the world of TTC. Hope your stay here is short - in a nice way of course and you get your BFP soon.

    xx
  • I need to be laid back as I am a natural worrier and I set my IBS off if I worry about the littlest thing or get excited about anything. We are still in the 'honeymoon' period of our relationship as not been together a year yet so we are hoping to use that to our advantage as we usually are at it every night ha - figure we have to catch when I ovulate by doing that.

I am sorry to hear about your hubbys job. Does he know what he is going to do? My OH hates his job but knows he is lucky to have one that pays good money in today's climates. He is a plasterer too so always has that to fall back on and does bits on the side too. I think if you started to worry about money you would never TTC xx

  • you have a pretty good chance if at it every night so to speak! erm hes applied for a few bits and pieces. hes works in teeside at the moment, has applied for internal and external jobs. good timing with going on holiday, an ideal time when u will be chilled out. hope your stay is short and sweet!
  • Thought i would congratulate you on your move, hopefully you wont be here by the time we offically move over in october, but iv got my fingers crossed for you and hope you get your BFP very soon. xxx
  • Bubs Please xx - Ah thanks. I hope so too!!

so excited - Yep that is what I am hoping and my holiday will make me even more relaxed. Well we live in Sunderland and he works for Mark Group Loft Insulation which is based in Gateshead but every so often he works away in Scotland or Manchester. He has been in Scotland for two weeks now but comes home at weekends. He is home for 4 weeks now so it has worked out great. Thanks!

Funshine - Thank you. October will fly round I am sure, this year so far has gone so quick. I hope I am not here by then too in the nicest way.
    xx

  • hay hun xx welcome xx and just wanted to say im a ibs sufferer and it didnt make any difference in my pregnancy as i know what my trigger is xx it was once i had had anabel that i had a few problems xx stress of new baby and no sleep but after a while it calmed down x
  • So excited - It is a small world! I really am looking forward to my holiday. Last one I had was last August and was the worst one ever. Was stuck with husband for two weeks with parents and all I was thinking about was how the hell I was going to ask him for a divorce and how I would ask my Mam and Dad - made myself ill. So I am really looking forward to this one with my new partner (we are much better suited and I am so much happier). Ooh there are a few northerners, love it!!

xLucyx - I can tell by the posts I have been reading. It is so nice that we can all support each other though and help each other through it all. Thanks I hope I have a short stay too.

Foxjenz - We meet again ha and a northerner too! I posted a couple of times in this forum but tended to stick with Planning a Baby forum. I didn't realise how many people suffer with this kind of problem...defo need to just chill out, best way to make it better.

Holly22 - It is Sex and the City inspired ha. I love it and can't wait for the 2nd movie!! I also of course lurve shoes ha!

Demelza2001 - Thanks! I am hoping it doesn't cause me too much pain, I really need to stop worrying otherwise I will get the pain. I just need to wait and see what happens and deal with it if and when it happens.

Let's hope we all move forums sooner rather than later - baby dust to you all xx

  • hi shoegal, wicked name, hope your stay here is short and sweet if you know what i mean!!
fingers crossed for u hun xx
  • Holly22,

Thought it would be easier to explain the tickers in a separate post. Right you need either of these two websites:

    http://lilypie.com/
    http://daisypath.com/

Lilypie is the website I used for my TTC ticker and you can do ovulation ones on that one too. Daisypath is the one I used for my anniversary, holiday etc. Yep I have a few and would have three on a post if it played correctly. Once you have designed your ticker you click on get the ticker code and you need the one for forum signatures and you need to click on PseudoHTML, UBBCode and BB Code. I cut and pasted my ticker codes into a word document and have that open when on this site as you do have to copy and paste into each post there is no quick way unfortunately. When doing posts you must use the reply one not the quick reply otherwise they don't work. Hope this helps, give me a shout if you need help xx

  • Oops that last post posted twice....

Thanks Broodybritches hope your stay is short and sweet too - loving your original profile name too! I made it my email address immediately after watching the episode where Carrie gets her email set up and thought must have that myself! It is a bit awkward when people ask me for it though - just have to admit to loving shoes and laugh it off. I wouldn't change it though and it is my user name for everything!
