  • Hey!!

Hubby and I are thinking of starting this this month.I'm on CD 7 so far and BDd last night so technically could have started already!!Good luck with it and keep me posted if you're lucky with it!Are you ttc your first? xxx
  • Hi Bubba4Us! Yep, we are trying for baby number 1. This is our second month of active trying but we started being less careful in Nov. I am hoping we'll fall before it all gets too emotional - at the moment we are thoroughly enjoying the process!! I imagine come day 15 it will be hard to stick to the plan - I think I might ovulate quite late (CD20ish), so will be using OPKs to try and be a little more precise. Let me know if you decide to give it a go - It would be interesting to see how other people get on. Good luck to you too.. x
  • I got my BFP twice in a row using SMEP and pre-seed (which makes it less exhausting as you're already ready iykwim!). Unfortunately neither were sticky and I'm having some tests done for recurrent mc, so after my tests this month we'll be back to it if all is OK.

If you stick to it it's supposed to increase your chances by 40%!

    Good Luck.x
  • HI I am going to try this this month. I am CD 6 and ttc my 1st! on month 5 !! it is emotional already x
  • Ooh MrsMel I would like to know how you get on, you're only 4 cycle days behind me. I am trying to convince myself that it is not emotional - but we were pretty devestated that it didn't happen last month - after a lot of effort! I am trying to look on the bright side at the moment because by the time the 2ww arrives I will no doubt crumble under the anxiety of waiting! I am sure the stress does not help the process! A friend of mine 'wasn't trying at all' and announced that she is expecting - I am delighted for her but it makes me even more eager this month (hence the SMEP). Fingers crossed for all of us x
  • Hi MrsEH,

We are also on our 2nd month ttc and are trying SMEP. We're on CD 11 today so not much diff from you. I started OPKs from day 7 and am a day off the SMEP plan so have BD'd CD9 and CD11 so far. I know what you mean about losing staying power to the plan if we ovulate late, hehe! Last month i had a 43 day cycle so ovulated really late but hoping that was just cos it was my first month off pill and will be a bit more back tpo normal this month. fingers crossed. Shall we keep each other posted on progress on this thread as we go thru SMEP?
  • MrsEh, you must have posted simialr time to me. My sister just announced she's pregnant last week too and i'm so happy for her but at the same time it's heartbreakingbut i feel so guilty for feeling like that. It's just that i want a baby sooo much!
  • Oooh that would be fab Wispa - I'd love to have someone to chat to. I'm trying not to overdo the CM etc chat with hubby as I think maybe it is too much info for him! We BD'd CD9 too, so slightly off track! My cycles have been a bit odd lately and can vary from 28 to 34 days - I am assuming my period will be due around day 30, so wil be testing on honeymoon. It would be so lovely to fall this moth - find out on our honeymoon and be three months on our 1st anniversary. I wish there was more that I could do to help things along. Are you doing anything else? I think preseed is a step too far for us at the mo - but maybe if it doesn't work this moth. x
  • HI all . My best friend is preg and although i am over the moon for her ( she has been trying longer then us) i am also jealous. I have a cbfm but can feel myslef beginning to obsess and so going to try smep,.... i really want it to work. I think ttc is always emotional no matter what month you are on. I also want to curse the sex ed teachers who made it seem like all you had to was look at a boy and you fell pg.!
  • Well let's keep eachother posted, we can help with PMA too! I guess we'll all be testing around the same time too then? Ooh.. exciting. Let's hope there is something in the water this month.

Maybe we should spill a little more info.. I am 25, hubby is 30 this Nov. We got married last Oct after nearly 5 years together. We live in a cosy cottage in Sussex. I am a teacher and my husband is a media specialist at a local University. Umm...not sure what else there is to divulge - feel free to ask!

  • Yay, this thread will give us good PMA hopefully.
Booey, it could be likely that you've been missing the fertile days every month when you've been using no protection so don't worry that anythings wrong just yet. Fingers crossed for you.

MrsEH, are you having a delayed honeymoon then? Where are you going? How exciting! We've only been married a couple of months and wedding is still such a nice memory, it was such a perfect day, i feel so lucky. We naively thought we would fall first month of trying whilst on honeymoon but no such luck.
    I'm 26 and hubby is 31.

I thought about using zestica this month and have bought a box but keep forgetting to use it cos hubby doesn't want it to feel like we are "trying" so i would have to apply it without him realising so a little tricky in the moment but i'll keep it to hand just in case.

Hope everyone has a good monday?

  • Hello girlies.. I am off to South West France on Saturday 10th until the 23rd. I am very excited. We had a minimoon in Bath/spa break at Centre parcs after the wedding but (as we're both in education) decided to wait for the Summer hols to have a proper honeymoon. Am going to have to hold off on the pate and cheese, but fingers crossed it will be worth it! Ooh congrats on your recent wedding Wispa, you must still have that lovely wedding glow?! I thought it wouldn't change anything but I feel much more settled now. We already owned our house and had been together a while but it is so nice to know you are a proper unit.

I am hoping we'll cope without any preseed - I don't like the idea of stopping mid action to baste my nethers! Hopefully, despite the extra fratinisation, things won't get too sore IYKWIM!! I figure we just have to make the most of the opportunity. Oddly enough, I have found it quite exciting to think that we 'can't' get it on - we'll see how long that lasts! I am exhausted at the mo. My friend who is just 2 weeks pregnant is desperate for us to get going - oh the pressure! x
  • me me! I'm on CD12 and we're giving it a go again, tried it last month too. Fingers crossed. Zxx
  • Oooh.. how did you find it last month ZLS23? With a little positivity and determination, I can't see what is that bad about it? But then I am only on CD11! I am impressed there are so many of us who have similar cycles - it is lovely to have other people to chat to. x
  • MrsEH - well, it was quite easy to follow, and didn't feel like a chore, if you know what I mean. :\)You've got to still try and have fun with it... In fact, I really thought we had cracked it last month and was really gutted when I came on. I sometimes think my body is still getting back to normal after my mmc in March! Still, I will soldier on, lol. Fingers crossed for this month. I keep remembering the saying, "if at first you don't succeed, try try again". Zxx
  • Sorry to hear about your MMC, I imagine you do need to give your body time to recover. Fingers crossed for you this month. That is a good saying to have in mind, along with 'good things come to those who wait' - I blinking well hope so! Would be so lovely to have a bump at Christmas. x
