What goes in your changing bag?

Hi girls,

I'm not due until Aug but trying to be organised and make sure I have plenty of things in especially as OH and I both have seperate changing bags!

I'm aware that nappies, bum cream, wet wipes, nappy sacks, bottles, change of clothes will have to go in but what else do you all put in you couldn't live without?

Thanks in advance!

  • I always carry bongella and paracetamol. And a soft toy to hug when he's tired...he has a toy to play with whilst he's awake. X

    nappy bags
    wet wipes
    bottles
    formula
    sudocrem
    my purse

  • I always make sure i've got a spare top for me as well as Cameron! He has a lovely habit of being sick all over me at inopportune times and it's much nicer to quickly put a clean top of that walk around with warm sick all over your top! Also spare dummies (if you choose to give one) as they inevitably get thrown on the floor and covered in germs! xx
  • Apart from what you've said I also have:
    pack of Milton wipes
    bonjela
    ashton & parsons
    toys & teething ring
    changing mat
    Vaseline
    muslins & bibs
    spare dummy in pod
beaker of water (but you won't need that yet lol)

Erm, then the kitchen sink & that's about it

Wee drop of olive oil ( lo has extremeley dry skin)
    Purse
    Lip balm
    Camera
    Mobile

  • Antibac hand gel is a must, in case you end up preparing feeds on the go.

Kitchen roll (just some sheets torn off) - I always put some under LO's bum when he has had a poo to keep the changing mat clean!

Tissues, spare dummy, rattle/toy, muslins etc...

  • ok we have:

    for feeds -

    A bottle (full)
spare carton of formula in case she's ravenous
small pair of scissors for said carton
    2x bibs
    muslin
(when I was BF also had spare breast pads)

    for changing -

    nappies
    changing mat
    muslin
spare outfit for DD in case of explosive poos
    nappy sacks
    wipes

    Extras -

    Sun hat
    sun cream
    anti bac hand gel
    sachet of calpol
    sachet of teething powder

and in the shopping basket of the pushchair I also always have -

    a reusable shopping bag
my buddy buggy pram lock in case I have to leave it somewhere
    a spare blanket
my snoozeshade for if DD is sleeping

ps - my hot tip would be to ALWAYS have your bag packed so that the second little one is quiet you can escape from the house at lightening speed. I found in the early days that by the time I'd packed the bag she was hungry, needed a nappy change etc etc........!
  • I pack mine with;

    Carton of formula
2 bottles and 2 powdered feeds measured out ready to mix
    Change of clothes for lo
    4 nappies
    Nappy sacks
    Wet Wipes
    Scissors (to open the carton!)
    Muslin
    Changing mat
Jacket for lo in case dropped cooler

I guess as lo gets older I'll probably add things like teething gel, calpol, suncream etc but at the moment she's too young for these things.

  • I carry:

    Nappies
    Baby Wipes
    Sudocrem
Portable Changing mat (came with the bag)
    Kitchen Towel
    Muslins (at least 2)
    Change of clothes
Carrier bags for the dirty nappies
Sun hat if it is looking hot
    Jacket
    Antibacterial hand gel
    Pashmina for breast feeding
Sometimes a bottle of expressed milk
    Dummies
    Rattle
    Bib

And it doubles as my handbag, so I also have purse, keys etc
