REALLY big playmat

Hi ladies

Lyvi is on the move now, starting to crawl and the playmat we have is not that big, which means she ends up on the carpet a lot of the time and her elbows and knees are getting quite sore. So I was wondering if anyone knows where I can get a really big playmat (nice and quilted) to cover a larger area for her to go exploring on!

i have this one. Its pretty large and lovely. We spend all day on it. Im 5'5 and its about my length when i lie down on it xx

I fear you may be fighting a losing battle - once she is on the move it will be hard work keeping her on the playmat. Having said that, I have this (see below) and it's great. Otherwise, have you considered knee and elbow pads?! (only half joking!)

They are fab! And i can just pack them away and they don't take up much room

They are really soft and if Emily falls over she doesn't hurt herself

What about a quilt and at this point putting toys on the blanket may be more fun anyway and you and always put the playmat you already have on top. If she is on the move it will be no time before she is to mobile to be contained on any mat and is following you round the room and shutting doors behind you

Thanks ladies.

I realise that once she is 'off' properly they'll be no stopping her (and I wouldn't want to!) but I'm hoping that by then it'll be a bit cooler so she'll have longer stuff on and also her skin may have toughened up a bit by then!!??

Coco - I saw those knee pad things in a catalogue the other day but they only start at 6 months (obviously!) but she's so small that I know they'll be HUGE on her. Might get them anyway and see if they can be taken in a bit.

as some of the others said, we have started to use a quilt, it is much bigger than the playmat we had and its more padded for all the bumps and falls!

I had an ikea one which was huge and fab for that stage! Had lots of interesting bits for J to grab onto/try and eat as well! Not very good at links but should be on their website. It was blue.
