Sponsored Sky Dive for Bristol Children's Hospital

Hi ladies,

Sorry i haven't been on lately, this is going to be a bit of a flying visit too i'm afraid as i'm just leaving for work. Hope you are all well - am hoping to log on later after i finish for a bit of a catch up on the posts!

I hope you don't mind me posting this on here but my brother has bravely offered to do a sponsored skydive in support of Bristol Children's Hospital. Below is the email i have sent to friends just incase anybody may wish to make a donation.

My brother Luke has kindly agreed to jump 13,000 feet out of a plane in support of Bristol Children's Wallace & Gromit's Grand Appeal. He has decided to do this for all the treatment and support Bristol Children's Hospital have given our family since Abigail was diagnosed with Juvenile Arthritis last year.

The Grand Appeal fundraises to provide comforts and facilities for patients and their families whilst in hospital. Bristol Children's Hospital and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit provide world-class care to babies and children from Bristol, the South West of England and in some cases the whole of the UK and overseas.

Their current appeal is the Cots for Tots appeal which aims to provide vital facilities and equipment to enable the NICU to treat more babies from all over Bristol & the South West.
Due to recent medical advances, and the fantastic care provided on the NICU, many more babies are surviving after being born prematurely or having serious illnesses.

If you wish to, any donation would be gratefully received and can be made via the following link http://www.justgiving.com/Luke-Hawkins123

Thanks for reading!

  • nice to hear from you. How are things??? Summer hols are lovely but are such hard work. Saying that it has all gone so fast.

I hope you raise lots and lots of money. Currently I am supporting people who are raising money for Zoe-s place which is a local baby hospice ( such a sad place) and for the Teeside Hospice as they cared for mum and she died there (another sad place). also I give to asthma and cancer each month.

I wish you luck and hope it goes well for your brother. What a lovely thing for him to do.

  • Hi Claire,

Didn't want to read and run. I have been meaning to make a small donation but my account on justgiving isn't working properly at the moment. Have another pledge to make too. As we live in Cardiff, some of the specialist treatment for children in our area is at Bristol Children's Hospital.

    Good luck to your bro!

  • Best of luck to your brother, such a brave thing he is doing & I hope he raises lots of cash! x
  • Thank you all for your messages of support. He's nearly at the target now which is great news. I totally understand that people have their own personal charities that they donate too. Hopefully the weather will improve for Saturday as i don't fancy making the trip from Devon to Swindon for them to turn around and postpone it! xxx
