do they back date payments?

i have finally got round to sending off my tax credits form (child is now 1!) and was wondering whether they back date it, and also how long it takes to process? money is tight and any extra pennies would be darn marvellous!!!

    They only back date 3 months I think hun, certainly not any more than that from what I remember.

    If you can prove exceptional circs they may consider backdating further than 3 but it would have to be something fairly substantial e.g. you had severe pnd and weren't able to fill in the forms. It take 4-6 weeks for them to process it.
