Pool temperature

What should the pool temperature be for taking my lo swimming? She's 14 weeks and we took her today. It wasn't very warm and when we asked we were told it was 28 but the dial on the wall said 24. My lo cried all the way through and we had to take her out after about 3 minutes!

  • It sounds like it was too cold. Some pools raise the temperature for baby swimming sessions. We go to water babies and it takes place in a hydrotherapy pool, and the temperature is 34. On their brochure they recommend a little wetsuit if you want to take your lo to the "normal" pool and say not to stay more than 20 minutes. Here is a link to the wetsuit:

I would check with your pool if they have baby swimming sessions.

I hope she enjoys it more next time.
