Does anyone know the mat pay rules

Hi

I am expecting my baby in december and have just had my mat meeting in work. I have been told that my allowance from my workplace is 6 weeks full pay, 20 weeks half pay and 13 weeks SMP

Should i still be getting smp the time that i am being paid half pay??

As i only work part time the half pay is a bit less that smp.

Does anyone know if i should be getting smp on top of that

Thanks

Lynda

  • SMP you get 6 weeks of 90% wages and then the rest SMP, your company obviously offers a bit more but sounds like it would benefit fulltime workers rather than you. Have you checked out the Direct Gov website, its usually pretty good with advice. Or maybe ask your HR to explain, they may have overlooked the fact that you're part time!
