Talkback: What is a dream feed?

Replies

  • Hi my baby if nearly 5 months, is it too late to start the dream feed again? I stopped due to wind problems and was getting trapped wind. He also still woke 4/5 am with or without it I did it for 1-2 weeks.

What is the best thing to do please? I'm pretty desperate as I'm going back to work soon.

    He is bottle fed.
  • My baby doesn't fully go to sleep until 930-10pm. Should I still dream feed at 11pm? She is 2 months old.
  • Hi. My baby boy is 18 weeks old, and he goes to sleep at 11-12 pm and wakes up every 3-4 hours to eat. When I feed him he goes back to sleep till 10 am. ( he has 3 -4 Naps during the day, usaualy 3 naps of 45 min or 60 and one of 2 sometimes 3 hours) Is that ok? What should I do to make him go to bed earlier? I’m a first time mom. Send help please. Thank you.

  • Hi I need some advice please! My daughter is 12 weeks old and still wakes between 2-4am for a feed. If I dream feed her at midnight, she wakes at 4am and can take sometime to settle back down. Still waking again at 6am. I've tried dropping the dream feed, then she wakes between 1-2am and can take 2 hours to settle back to sleep, still waking at 6am. I should add, she has a bath bottle and bed at 6pm and often settles well in her cot at 7pm. I've tried dream feeding at 10pm, 11pm and now midnight because I struggle to get her to drink it all but she always wakes around 4am regardless. She has a 6oz bottle before bed, as her dream feed (usually drinks half) and as her morning feed. Her other feeds are only 5oz and she always leaves a little.. She's fed 3 hourly during the day.

I don't know whether I should just drop the dream feed in the hope she will eventually sleep through or if there is something else I should be trying/doing?! Thanks!
