How often would you change a mattress?
in my group of friends we have a small tradtion.
when my best friend first fell pregnant with her son who is now 11, we all chipped in and bought an amazing moses basket and crib. the tradition is now every time one of us has a baby we use it and give it back.
i know its been used 4 times in the past 11 years, and i bet money that noone has ever replaced the mattress?
am i right in thinking i should ? or is it not needed?

I would. Plus I'm sure SIDS guidelines advise that it should be changed everytime in case there is mould living in the mattress.
brilliant thank you !
I would definately change the mattress
I'd definitely change too. Even if it's just another sibling you're meant to change under sids x
SIDS guidelines suggest changing mattresses for every child. I wouldn't use a mattress second hand.
I would be rather surprised if no one has changed it, but then that is irrelevant because even if it has been replaced every time then you should buy a new one anyway in accordance with SIDS guidelines.
I can really recommend www.babymattressesonline.co.uk for cheap decent quality mattresses.
Yes change it! I bought a new mattress for M as SIDS guidelines recommend it.
I change mattresses everytime. Moses/pram etc are v cheap!
What a lovely tradition. I second the babymattressonline recommendation.
