  • Morning!

Boo to pgp, did they give you exercises etc? Hope the anesthetist goes well, why wouldn't you be allowed an epi?

AFM creeping towards term this week!! Bh's are ridiculous now, if I didn't know what a real contraction felt like I'm sure I'd have thought I was in labour several times now! Not a great night. Ps last canine is giving her problems coming through so she's woken a few times bless her. Today we have my mum, grandma and uncle coming for lunch whichll be nice :-)
  • Monnie, bless you! PGP is what the midwife said I have. I can only be on my feet for between 3 & 10 minutes now depending on the day. I've heard the belts you can buy are really good?? I've neglected to buy one on the premise I'm going in to labour tomorrow (always tomorrow lol!). Good luck at appointment.

AR - I always think BHs is a good sign... Body practicing and all that. I had none with Harry and he was in for nearly 10 months so I always think it's a positive thing. Apart from the pain, ha ha!! Lunch sounds lovely :)

AFM - all the house projects are done! We've little bits and bobs (plus a whole garden lol) but nothing that's super visible. We've to clean and tidy today, poor hubby has to get up early from sleeping off his nightshift to finish chores. Then his parents are over for dinner tonight. We can show them round and finally be pleased with how everything is looking. It's 49 weeks since we moved in and we've had job changes, wedding, pregnancy in that time so all in all I'm pleased with what we've done!

Baby-wise... My bump slipped visibly yesterday. Was under my boobs and now it's er... not. Not entirely sure *where* Baxter is right now. Lower, and possibly crossways... Yesterday was the best day I have had for 2-3 weeks. Worked 8.30-3.30, then from home til 6.30. Then sewing and tidying and cleaning until 11pm. No heartburn until late in the day (but then it's the worst I have ever had and I started to ponder whether anyone had ever ended up with 'heartburn' on their death cert!).

37 weeks today!!! Feels a bit surreal. It's gone so quickly in a way. I spent so many years assuming I would never have any more kids so being this close to meeting baby is really quite emotional :)

Oh what a waffle... I'd better get moving and get to work. Roll on Fri April 4th for mat leave!

  • AR- apparently with women who have a bmi over 35 there's a slim chance the epidural can't be sited, so they have a pre meet to determine it, rather than in an emergency situation. My mum said in all her years she's never seen a bigger girl be refused one, but it can take a few attempts to place it.

Awww poor P, teeth are not nice! Glad you have company today, let them wash up etc!!

    Counter- pgp is pants!

I'm a sicko and I love housework if I lived closer I'd come and help you clean and tidy!

Congratulations on being term and I hope you go into labour tomorrow haha!!

  • You like housework? Dang! How much is the train fare...... Laugh

  • Lol counter, like is an understatement I love it, I get so excited when I get my steamer out

  • Monnie- Poor you. That does sound painful. I had pelvic pain earlier on in this pregnancy but thankfully it stopped. Hope you are getting lots of rest with it.

AR- Hope the BH are not too painful. Poor P, hope she is OK today. My 2 year old has decided he doesn't want to nap anymore during the day....perfect timing...not!

Counter- Yay for being term. Sounds like you have had a very busy 49 weeks!

AFM- not a lot to report. I am itching like mad again, however the blood tests I have had have all come back clear. In saying that it has been a few weeks since I had one. Toddler group this afternoon and then dancing for A after school.

  • Oooooo counter perhaps you'll go first and I'll be the one overdue!!! Must be soooooo lovely to have the house sorted :-)

Monnie I have a bmi of 36 at the moment but I haven't been referred. Perhaps it's one of those things that varies by area?!

S4 I'm dying to know your section date!!! So excited for your BA!!
  • AR - I really do think you'll queue-jump me, but I'm okay with that. Your experience was a *much* shorter preg than mine so each day is going to seem harder to take when we get a bit further along :) I've spoken to 4 people at work so far today and 2 have commented on how very different my bump looks compared to last week. I've got socialising on tonight, tomorrow, Fri and Sun, so at the moment I'm okay with Baxter staying comfy!

    Monnie. You weirdo. ;)

S4 - is the itching due to anything or the usual stretchy pregnancy skin? Glld news re bloods but if it's an old result I guess it doesn't mean much. I'm still so intrigued about your CS date ;)

  • Morning,

Crikey, you was awake early! Dont worry if your not allowed an epidural, I'm not allowed one because of my platelets  but luckily I didn't like the idea of them anyways, although that may all of changed in labour! What's pgp?

AR- woo to almost term, me too! You've had Braxton hicks for quite a while haven't you? Enjoy today, sounds lovely and hope Ps  tooth doesn't cause too much pain!

Counter- yay to term! And not long until mat leave :) haha I agree on the heartburn!

S4- will you go for another test just in case?

Afm- quiet day today, I'm enjoying getting bits and bobs done. Midwife yesterday went well but baby is back to back so been on my ball, does anyone know any other tricks? Hospital tomorrow, then can make a start on a rough birth plan.

  • Morning ladies, is there room for one more on the sub bench? I can't quite believe we are here woohoo!

monnie - poor you having pgp, was the physio any good, was it uncomfortable? I hope it eases for you, after my last mw appt she said I probably have it but sent me away with a pamphlet about it and what exercises to do. I asked about the support belts and she didn't sound very encouraging, she said some women found it helped and others said it didn't. Ooo these braxton hicks don't sound nice but I suppose it's a taster of what is to come eeek! I hope you get the answer you want with the epidural, I've also got a high bmi but haven't been told about that yet. I wish I had the energy to do the housework, my H has been helping which is great, I could also do with hiring you too haha!

AR - ooo not long to go now and again those BH don't sound nice, but I suppose we have them to get the body ready. Sorry to hear P is having trouble with her canine, I hope it eases up :) Your lunch today sounds lovely, enjoy :)

Counter - every time I read your posts, I gasp, I would love to find some of that energy you have to get things done :) well done you, you've achieved such a lot, hopefully now you can find some time to relax, if you want to that is haha! I had really bad heartburn last night had to get up and walk about and take another Ranitidine grrr. I hope you don't go overdue and not long now til maternity leave starts wooo!

S4 - very good about the bloods coming back clear :) sounds like you have a busy afternoon, have fun

Bertie - hope baby moves and hope you get the birth plan down as you want it, scary haha!

AFM - crap nights sleep with heartburn and pelvic/hip/lower back discomfort, I've tried the pillow between legs but for me it makes it worse. Had my whooping cough/tetanis jab yesterday and tomorrow I have the GTT test, not really looking forward to that if I'm honest, Mum is coming with me to keep me company and I've booked the afternoon off :) So happy to have handed in my annual leave and maternity dates which have been approved (I wasn't such a muppet after all and managed to work it out correctly!). Only downside is I have to train a lady for 8 wks, not fun, oh well!

Hi to all who follow :)

Bertie, Baxter was back to back at last check. She told me to sit forward with legs open when i work at dining room for example, and also to spend time on my hands and knees. Hubby had a suggestion or two in respect of that (!) but my heartburn is just too bad for me to contemplate all fours, I was gulping down sick last night with it (sorry TMI). If it eases I'll get on with it. Harry was back to back and I had no issues at all, apart from him being a billion years overdue...

  • Bertie- p was back to back until hours before she arrived so they can move at the last minute. Ball bouncing and spending time on all fours is meant to move them. I have had bh's for ages but they are defo more intense now.

Leelee welcome to 3rd tri!! Hope Gtt goes well. It's not that much fun but not as bad as I'd remembered it this time :-). Take food with you to eat immediately after your second blood test.
  • Thanks counter, that's helpful and reassuring that Harry was and you delivered fine. Haha I bet he did! To be fair I wanted to clean the floors today so good excuse to get on hands and knees. God your heartburn sounds terrible :( does nothing help it?

  • Thanks AR, hopefully she will co operate lol.

Hey leelee, welcome to 3rd tri :) sometimes the pillow makes me worse too. Hope you manage to get comfy. An afternoon off will be nice :)

Hi to all who follow :)

LeeLee - long time no see. Welcome. Definitely good to have new people bring their ailments along Laugh

Re the heartburn, I have slept sitting up since December, can't wait to lay flat! Excellent news re leave/mat approval. 8 weeks training, crikey, that's a long time. When do you go off?

  • Bertie

Thanks counter, that's helpful and reassuring that Harry was and you delivered fine. Haha I bet he did! To be fair I wanted to clean the floors today so good excuse to get on hands and knees. God your heartburn sounds terrible :( does nothing help it?

I take Ranitidine and sometimes it eases it, but I hate taking pills so try to minimise how many I get through. Yesterday I had no heartburn until 8pm so I am hoping that baby dropping will give some respite :)

Come do my floors too if ya like, I'm not too proud to ask... :)

  • Morning ladies, late the thread today! I guess this is what happens when you're on maternity leave without a little one to wake you up!

Monnie - pgp sounds nasty, good that you're getting physio for it already

AR - so close to 37 weeks! I bet you have your little boy in your arms before 39 weeks!

Counter - so glad you're all done in the house! Now hopefully you can relax on your days off! Wonder if you'll make it to your last day at work?!

S4 - I'm looking forward to your BA! It's obviously very soon...! Are your other children excited about their new brother/sister?

Bertie - mine is back to back too (or at least she was at the last midwife appointment). Sweetpea posted a whole lot of tips, but mainly it's all fours, not slouching on the sofa etc. they can turn right up until the end so you have time.

Leelee - welcome! I thought we must be due some new ladies over here! I found a pillow between my legs hurt, I've been kind of rolling a duvet up but luckily I haven't had too many aches and pains. I do wake up with hip pain at least a couple of times in the night and have to roll myself to a different position for a bit which is almost impossible at the moment!

AFM - woke up feeling really crappy today, not pregnancy related, just sore throat, blocked up nose etc. Can't believe it's hit me as soon as I finished work, feeling a bit sorry for myself and cancelled my plans for today. Going to pop out to get some nice food then parking myself on the sofa for the rest of the day I think. In good news, the decorators finished our bedroom in one day yesterday so H just needs to build the wardrobes this weekend and hopefully we'll get them back to decorate the nursery on Monday. Nothing like last minute! I'm so sure the baby will be late I'm quite relaxed about how much there is to do (famous last words!).

Baby wise, nothing interesting. Pretty sure she's still back to back but I'm trying not to let it worry me as I've ready lots about them turning during labour and trying to stick to positive stories about it not being any harder than normal labour for some people.

And I watched one born every minute last night, I really should have sky plussed them all for after the baby is here!

  • Morning ladies

Monnie - boo for the PGP!  I can't believe you love housework lol, shame you live so far away!  I'm desperate for a karcher window vac to try and make my life easier but I can't convince H!

AR - Wow almost 37 weeks!  He'll be here before you know it :)

Counter - well done you for getting the house sorted!  Haha I reckon someone somehwere does have heratburn on their death certificate, it's been touch and go for me in the past but thankfully I made it through :)

    S4 - I can sense a BA very soon - it's so exciting!

Bertie - can't help with any advice on the back to back but I hope whatever you try does work!

LeeLee - hello and welcome!  Lovely to see you here :)  I had a crap night too last night and the pillow just made me too hot.

Flossy - sorry you're feeling crap but a day on the sofa with lovely food sounds great!  Sounds like you're very busy in the house ATM so fingers crossed you manage to get it all done before baby arrives!

AFM - Had arranged to visit H's auntie in hospital on Thursday, she's had lung cancer and had a lung removed and chemo and radiotherapy, been readmitted with a chest infection and they told her last night that that's it, she won't get better and loikely won't come home from hospital.  Complete sh*tter adn it's the first time I'll have seen her since I've been pregnant and it's going to be horrible for her to see me and know she isn't going to be here to see baby arrive :(  total sh*tter.  All that that treatment and being ill for nothing.  Phew, sorry about that just needed to get that off my chest!

Babywise nothing to report, all seems to be ticking along nicely.

    Hi to all who follow

  • Oh VT, so sorry to hear about H's aunt. That's really rubbish she's been through all that treatment and it hasn't worked. Do you think you'll be able to go and see her still? It might be hard knowing she won't get to see the baby but I'm sure she'd love to see you still. x

  • Yeah we are still going to see her but it's going to be such a different visit than originally planned :(
