Car seat laws apply to height & weight...
If baby is in the newer I-size seat then they should be rear facing until 15mth old & their head reaches the top of the seat...
If in the older weight based seat then baby must weigh at least 9kg before moving into the next stage car seat...
Hi Lynnsammie20,
Great to hear from you, and hope we can help answer your question.
KazzieM is absolutely right when she sys that car seat regulations apply to height and weight.
Under the new i-Size regulations, children must stay in a rear-facing car seat until they are 15 months old, or up to 75cm tall.
Some i-Size seats do go up to age 4 though, and you can check them out here: http://www.madeformums.com/reviews-and-shopping/best-i-size-car-seats-for-babies-and-toddlers/41348.html
However, the i-Size regulation currently runs alongside the older car seat regulation, which allows for little ones of at least 9kg to use a forward-facing Group 1 car seat.
So, as long as your son weighs at least 9kg, you could move him into a Group 1 car seat.
