  I did this exact thing, unintentionally as my daughter was born very quickly at home before I made it to hospital. It was a much better experience, although scary, to birth at home in my own space with confidence in my body. More women should give birth at home and give the health service a break

  My second child was a homebirth, with only one midwife as the second didn't make it until after the birth. It was a wonderful experience with a fairly hands off midwife BUT I certainly wouldn't want to go that extra step and not have a medical professional on hand, just in case.

  No way could I go it alone, she's very brave as well as lucky there were no complications.
