If you do BLW then there are no ideal starter foods & it's actually best to give a variety just as you & I would eat rather than just fruit & veg. I agree with the 2nd tip, 'weaning' (not feeding!!) should be fun! Although I wouldn't play games with food. Just put food on their tray & let them explore & taste, so yes I would encourage BLW as this is what it involves!
